Best chance of beating Floyd.
Best chance of beating Floyd.
Who do you think has it?
Re: Best chance of beating Floyd.
for some reason I think Joshua Clottey could, as long as he lets his hands go and doesn't have diarrhea like he did in the pacquiao fight.

Re: Best chance of beating Floyd.
As much as I hate the little Pr!ck, no one out there can beat him.
Re: Best chance of beating Floyd.
Terence Crawford has a chance ,can`t think of anyone else
Re: Best chance of beating Floyd.
No one around today.
For me the best chance of seeing Floyd lose, was Canelo or Pacquiao in his peak.
Canelo went in with the wrong strategy but seeing the gulf between them when they fought, I'm now unsure even the right game plan does it.
I genuinely fancied Manny to beat him around 5-6 years back and think it would have been a different outcome if it happenend back then. But it didn't, so we'll never know.
Going into the fight in May I (like most) tipped Floyd and shoulder injury or not, I just can't see how Manny can beat him these days.
I still think the best chance is Canelo, a bigger stronger man, with good technique and the right game plan. But I still see Floyd outsmarting him.
I just do not see anyone beating him.

Brook is the most talented WW apart from Mayweather IMO,he's fast, clever, good defence, hits hard, all good traits to have if you've to have a chance of beating Floyd
Re: Best chance of beating Floyd.
Possibly many of the right attributes and arguably the "best of the rest" in the divisionhandsofstone wrote:Brook is the most talented WW apart from Mayweather IMO,he's fast, clever, good defence, hits hard, all good traits to have if you've to have a chance of beating Floyd
but stylistically I don't see Brook being able to implement the gameplan needed to trouble floyd. I don't see Brook being able to put it on him, bully him and rough Floyd up the way you would need to to get the win.
If he fights the style he's used to it comes down to ability and as good as Brook is, he's a level below Floyd and loses a fairly wide points decision
Re: Best chance of beating Floyd.
At 154 Lara or Andrade. At 160 GGG. At 147 no one unless Floyd fights a few more years.

Re: Best chance of beating Floyd.
brook. much biggeer and stronger at the weight, has the skills and timing and heavy handed enough to make floyd suffer.
Re: Best chance of beating Floyd.
No one can beat Floyd under the circumstances today. Floyd gets to pick the venue, the ref, the judges, whether he likes his opponents gloves or not, the purse, the candy in the vending machines.
It's a racket. The only chance at defeat would be a knockout and Floyd won't get into any exchanges that put his chin in jeopardy so all he needs to do is land a few jabs and a flurry in the last 10 seconds of every round and he'll win the rounds. He owns the judges so he'll never lose at MGM.

Lara is a good shout, but I still think Floyd down the stretch will pick up the points.

To be fair, nobody has done enough to warrant a decision over him, or have an argument for it, since Castillo.caldo2025 wrote:No one can beat Floyd under the circumstances today. The Dela Hoya fight was close. I gave it to Floyd but it was very narrow.
Castillo definitely beat Floyd in the first fight regardless of what the cards said.

I thought the DLH fight was close, but clearly a Floyd win, DLH did virtually nothing in the last 4 rounds, he just gassed.Ian1973 wrote:jamesmcdonnell wrote:To be fair, nobody has done enough to warrant a decision over him, or have an argument for it, since Castillo.caldo2025 wrote:No one can beat Floyd under the circumstances today. Castillo fight was definitely debatable, but plenty of champs get a close call that goes their way. It was also a bloody long time ago.
Re: Best chance of beating Floyd.
At the moment, Floyd would be the heavy favourite to beat everybody in the Welterweight division. But I think that Khan's speed could cause him problems... Floyd aint getting any quicker as each day goes by...

No, but he relies on his timing more than speed, anticipation, and distance control.Crease wrote:At the moment, Floyd would be the heavy favourite to beat everybody in the Welterweight division. Khan would cause some problems early on, but he'd get outsmarted and outhustled.

Hence why I said Floyd would be the heavy favourite.jamesmcdonnell wrote:No, but he relies on his timing more than speed, anticipation, and distance control. Khan would cause some problems early on, but he'd get outsmarted and outhustled.

I wasn't arguing with you, just saying that Khan would definitely cause problems early on.Crease wrote:Hence why I said Floyd would be the heavy favourite.jamesmcdonnell wrote:No, but he relies on his timing more than speed, anticipation, and distance control.
