The cornish fight is a one rounder, ive never been so sure since Lennox Lewis v Derek Williams (rd3 ko)

They could make a little documentry for it and give it a title of something like: 'The Great British Bash Off' Start with the cornish fight and get Whyte gloved up ready for a quick entry to follow round 1. Whyte could come in and begin round 2. Have a premium rate telephone number for donations flashing across the screen and it all makes sense. You could have a Xfacter reject Louis Walsh clapping shouting to Whyte 'Take him to deadlock'

Well i think its a good idea.
Against the likes of Cornish I think AJ could handle two opponents on the same night no problem.

Make it happen Hearn :box: :bag:

I would just like to make it known now that this is my idea and if this goes ahead as I suspect it will I have to be onboard in an executive capacity. Or just give me a few quid.

If AJ beats Cornish and Whyte he really needs to step up Price or Chisora at the start of next year then a big fight next summer if he gets through either of them. :box:

I'd be surprised if Cornish made it into the 3rd round but I can't wait,Gary has improved more than I thought he would after I first saw him but Joshua's levels above

Chisora and Price arent really a step up. Price would go in 1. AJ needs stiff opponents, not stiff opponents. In the current state of affairs we are now approaching the waiting game all the unbeaten prospects are not going to jeopardise a loss, they all want a shot and the big money. I feel we are in that state of affairs where its now waiting for world title shots to get a decent opponent. I wouldnt like to see AJ just plodding along and getting 'bored' I wouldnt like to see a 'Buck Smith' come along and stop the train.

My mate had told me tonight that AJ and Cornish have sparred before. Not sure how many rounds or that but I didn't know that. I wonder if big Cornish thinks he's saw a weakness? Personally I think he'll get flattened and AJ will finish the fight when he wants but just a thought.

Actually, the other day I saw this video on YouTube of big George Foreman beating up 5 guys one after the other

spoiled somewhat by Ali acting like a prick at ringside but still a great video

This a poor match up given that hearn was mentioning names like Wach, Thompson and Charr. The Wach fight always seemed ambitious to me but it would have been a very decent test for AJ and definitely have given him rounds and lots to think about. Why hearn then decides to completely drop the level is obsurd to me.

Whyte is getting his shot based on an amateur fight about 7 years ago and Cornish brought in a s a buffer. Poor end to the year for Joshua. I think whyte is still improving and learning and they should have waited until he was a bit more proven.

Who can he fight that will satisfy you if Chisora and Price aren't a step up?

If you don't think David Price (likely to be European Champ after tonight) and Chisora are a step up from Safety Pin Johnson then you really DKSAB.

I have said who are the boxers to fight in a roundabout way, but again these are all queing to get a title shot and wont risk a loss. Sign of the times when a guy like Tyson Fury can get a world title shot and not faced a top 5 title contender. The days of being ranked number 1 to get a title shot are long gone. You dont have to be ranked its seems the promoters have more say these days.

Quick blow out for Joshua, unless Cornish has improved dramatically. Surely Cornish's only hope is landing a haymaker....on second thoughts, I don't even think that's a possibility.

Whyte v Joshua is good fight for the British title, but think Whyte needed 3/4 more decent fights to make it a more level playing field.

Joshua should win obviously but I'm glad he's going the Commonwealth and British route instead of Intercontinental, WBC silver type route with eliminators galore.

Who? A top 5 ranked opponent?

Good fight for both. Both undefeated and both in British Top 10.

Good fight for the commonwealth belt. I'm 100% sure that Cornish brings ambition.

By the time Joshua has beaten Whyte and Cornish and is scheduled to fight his 16th opponent, Chisora in the same time frame, with the same number of amateur fights, from the same boxing club and basically the same age had fought: Tyson Fury, Robert Helenius, had Wlad pull out twice on him and was scheduled to fight Vitali next.

Joshua's 'journey' it has to be said is tediously slow.

Names like Wach, Price, Chisora, Fury, Haye etc get relentlessly mentioned by Hearn.

Instead we get Cornish. Incredibly disappointing.

Not sure that's accurate, Chisora had been pro for five years when he fought Vitali.

I have no issues with the speed Joshua has been moved at so far. Doesn't mean the Cornish fight is particularly exciting mind.

The speed with which Joshua has progressed isn't so much about what he can handle in terms of boxing ability but more about generating hype, increasing fan base, PR and making money. He could probably beat most of the heavyweight division now bar one or two.

I think Joshua is being moved at a good swift pace.
Base him progress on the other 2012 Olympians and he's probably got the highest boxrec ranking.

Cornish then white. Are great fights . Also proves he's the best in the uk off world level.

We knew he potentially was 12 months ago .
But potential is nothing til you back it up.

Next two fights he backs it up.

He also knocks terper out in March IMO.
