I thought that the first fight with Maidana could have gone either way. I had Maidana winning that fight by a slimmest of margins. I felt he put enough rounds in the bank early to stave of the late rally.Ian1973 wrote:jamesmcdonnell wrote:To be fair, nobody has done enough to warrant a decision over him, or have an argument for it, since Castillo.caldo2025 wrote:No one can beat Floyd under the circumstances today. It's a racket. The only chance at defeat would be a knockout and Floyd won't get into any exchanges that put his chin in jeopardy so all he needs to do is land a few jabs and a flurry in the last 10 seconds of every round and he'll win the rounds. He owns the judges so he'll never lose at MGM.
The Dela Hoya fight was close. I gave it to Floyd but it was very narrow.
Castillo definitely beat Floyd in the first fight regardless of what the cards said.
Best chance of beating Floyd.

Only himself. I could see him being tempted out of "retirement" in a few years make even more money and narrowly lose.

Most honest and well written post out here.davie wrote:No one around today.
For me the best chance of seeing Floyd lose, was Canelo or Pacquiao in his peak.
Canelo went in with the wrong strategy but seeing the gulf between them when they fought, I'm now unsure even the right game plan does it.
I genuinely fancied Manny to beat him around 5-6 years back and think it would have been a different outcome if it happenend back then. But it didn't, so we'll never know.
Going into the fight in May I (like most) tipped Floyd and shoulder injury or not, I just can't see how Manny can beat him these days.
I still think the best chance is Canelo, a bigger stronger man, with good technique and the right game plan. But I still see Floyd outsmarting him.
I just do not see anyone beating him.
