Oldest turning pro
Who is the oldest boxer to actually turn professional? I know that guy in the states was 52 years old turning over after being in the slammer for donkeys years but who from the UK?

Not sure, I know Matt Skelton was 35 with a few question marks over his age, thought to be older. I doubt he is the oldest though.

Anyone over 40?
Re: Oldest turning pro
Mickey Rourke at 38? Admittedly not the most serious of careers and therefore somewhat tenous......basically served-up with club fighters who were allegedly generously tipped not to be too feisty...but Rourke was (technically) fighting professionally.

Good call from Controversial ...Matt Skelton's birth certificate has been very vague and subject to much speculation.
And he was clearly a good deal more credible than Rourke as well.
Dennis Andries was also a mystery man when it came to his age....the real details held somewhere in the depths of Guayana....but I guess this was the last thing on Jeff Harding's (and others) minds as another good shot just bounced off Dennis and he came tearing back at them.
