Erkan Teper KTFOs David Price

Post by crusader »

Massive KO in their EBU title fight. A shirtless Teper at weigh-ins is one of the most unimpressive sights you'll see, but he's not a bad fighter and he packs some power. With that win he's made it into my top 15.

As for Price, big punch, big sculpted physique, but no chin. Seems like a nice guy but unfortunately I think he's done.

Also, if I spoiled the fight for you too bad....don't go on a boxing forum until you've seen it.

Agree with Crusader, Boxing results should be discussed as they happen!

I knew Price's chin would be a problem as Teper has pop in combo and the reach to apply it. Decent hands too.... Price looked so vulnerable in round 1... i felt it was a question of time

Yep, the writing was on the wall in the first. Teper getting in way too easily and landing some good shots with Price already looking uncomfortable.

Teper shook him in the first exchange they had... he bullied Price and landed clubbing shots from the clinch and took Price's mental and legs away... Teper came in this fight out of shape knowing it would be quick...

Teper cuts the ring pretty well and has really good power in both hands. I think he would be a risky opponent for Anthony Joshua and Joseh Parker now, personally I'd like to see him against guys like Andy Ruiz, Chris Arreola or Carlos Takam.

From the start of his career, teper was an on and off fighter... He can look old and unprepared... sloppy... but can also look solid with a nice jab and cumulating pop on his distance combos. I was impressed in his pro debut i think where he had shown nice hands including an uppercut and good jab. With the army boxing background he had, even though old, he looked promising. He then had lots of "off" performances where he loss the "promising" tag for me... But the way he disposed of a done Rogan was still very brutal and showed what he could do. In short fights, he shines... in long ones, he can look limited.

Gutted for Price, but it's time to move on.

I've followed Teper from his pro debut. He's so hot and cold. I favored him in this fight, but thought the stoppage would come after Price had gassed. Impressive win for him. I doubt he'll have success landing any big fights after this though. I'd like to see him against a top 15-20 next, but I'd guess it'll be a random.

I don't think many people have thought that for a while.....simply that he could be dangerous given his power and Wilder's questionable chin. Going into this fight I'd say that Price would've been the third best name on Wilder's record, but it seems like he's finished now.

Teper is far from short - he's listed here as 6'5", but at the fight they said 6'4" - he's a big heavyweight, it's just that Price is a giant - he made Robert Helenius look small in the amateurs.

Teper is a tough, chubby club fighter who merely once again exposed the over-rated Price. It's just unfortunate that he didn't get a shot at Fury before he was granted a shot at WK.

Teper vs Arreola would be a fun matchup, if you get past the jiggling. It would be a showcase of superior modern training and nutrition.

Teper looks like crap when he fights. Sloppy punches, horrible footwork, listlessly pushing his punches. The fact that he KO'd a sloppy, chinless Price flatters him. It's really sad how much David Price wilts like a leaf in round 2 when he gets hit by punches that are relatively soft in the context of international-level boxing. I think if Teper were to fight any quality operator in the top 25, he would be outgunned in punching technique, movement, power, and toughness. If Arreola is still in his prime, which he may not be, then he would break Teper in half.

Not to be negative. I have no reason to hate Teper. But for a top 25 heavyweight, he looks like crap. I'd like to see how Teper fares against Christian Hammer or Amir Mansour.

The overall standard of the fight was woeful. Teper looks chubby but his simple, gloves in front of his face tactic seemed to confuse Price lol. Price should retire and Teper really needs to train harder.
