Good round for Frampton, lands a lovely uppercut and a few right hands, but Gonzalez has cojones as big as his old mans, he still lands a sharp right at the end of the round

Frampton's defence has been awful, when his wheels haven't got him out the way, Gonzalez has nailed him with his chin up in the air.
Was hurt again that last round imo.

A knockdown by either fighter could win it, hard to score really, Gonzalez impressed me last round, came out and took the fight to Frampton. Shook him up again, and still looks sharp , really sucked it up as i thought he was tiring

Thoughts on ref, i have liked him so far, complaints about the low blows , but he's took a point away from Gonzalez and gave warnings to both
Re: Carl Frampton bill live
I don't like Frampton's habit of appealing to the referee when he feels he's been hit low.

It's not something I like to see either but the low blows are blatant and the ref hasn't been quick to notice. Apart from that the ref has been very good though.Cholo_cws wrote:I don't like Frampton's habit of appealing to the referee when he feels he's been hit low.
Re: Carl Frampton bill live
Great fight. The question now is will ITV stay for the announcement of the decision.
Re: Carl Frampton bill live
True, though I noticed he did it in his last fight too.BigCheese1986 wrote:It's not something I like to see either but the low blows are blatant and the ref hasn't been quick to notice. Bloody hell, talk about under underestimating ...Barry nearly dropped a bollock with picking this guy, huge puncher & iron chin, Gonzalez is a real dangerman and nearly ambushed Carl there.
Re: Carl Frampton bill live
Frampton is fun to watch but the American announcers on CBS have to be the worst, most-Ill-informed cheerleading team ever. One of the idiots wanted Gonzalez's corner to pull him out of the fight in the sixth round so he wouldn't take any more punishment
no wonder we have so many crappy decisions in the U.S.
Look forward to Frampton-Quigg if they make it

well done Carl, but Gonzalez impressed me as well. Not the performance by Frampton , i think he may of underestimated Gonzalez (we all did)
Re: Carl Frampton bill live
Was it me, or did Frampton say he was moving up to featherweight in that post-fight interview?
Re: Carl Frampton bill live
He mentioned it as a possibility.sendo wrote:Was it me, or did Frampton say he was moving up to featherweight in that post-fight interview?

Seems pretty clear they will go to feather, good way to duck Quigg and keep the gravy train going.

Duke and Haye worked well in the studio there.
Re: Carl Frampton bill live
I was wondering where the excuses were going to come from. The ring canvas - that's a new one.

More a case of Frampton being considerably overrated beforehand.Old bones Ian wrote:well done Carl, but Gonzalez impressed me as well. Not the performance by Frampton , i think he may of underestimated Gonzalez (we all did)
Next Ricky Hatton? Yeah, ok.
Good fighter no doubt but way overrated by a fair few, no more so than his handlers, but that's to be expected I guess.

and the weight, i don't go for the ring canvas. if that is a true factor, then look at the team around you as thats what a boxer pays money for them to get everything in the champs liking.Cholo_cws wrote:I was wondering where the excuses were going to come from. The ring canvas - that's a new one.

Not a new one unfortunately mate. Calzaghe mentioned it after Hopkins.Cholo_cws wrote:I was wondering where the excuses were going to come from. The ring canvas - that's a new one.

I definitely thought he was at-the-very-least-buzzed in that round. Right hand.

I didn't know/remember that.Counter-puncher wrote:Not a new one unfortunately mate. Calzaghe mentioned it after Hopkins.Cholo_cws wrote:I was wondering where the excuses were going to come from. The ring canvas - that's a new one.
Re: Carl Frampton bill live
funny that people are talking about the ring canvas , my old man said the ring canvas was far to bouncy. was watching the Abraham at the same time didn't notice . he was not happy about it said it was a problem
