Wlad-Fury presser

Post by johnswan1 »

Anybody seen it? Managed to find these quotes on the web from it:

Wladimir Klitschko: “Every time I have faced new challenges I haven’t seen before. I believe that Tyson Fury is really meaning what he’s talking about here. He’s not just coming to be present on the canvas. He is coming to win the championship fight.”

Tyson Fury: “He’s never faced someone like me before. There’s never been anyone like me in history. There’s never been a fighter like me – a fighter like me only comes around every 1000 years. I’m just wondering does Klitschko’s TV deal roll over to me when I beat him?”

Couple more:

"You have grey hair like my trainer and manager. You're an old man. Wouldn't surprise me if you used botox."

"This Klit is getting licked on the 24th. Boom."

You have to be amused by Fury's confidence/delusion. I guess it will sell the fight at least. I'd like to watch the presser. I guess IFL TV will have it up later on.

His twitter account was asking for put downs and he would say the best one in the presser, guess the second one is the winner!

Well he's doing what he should do - selling his end of the fight - it's all good clean fun.

If put downs won fights, he'd be declared the winner now - sadly for him, it doesn't.

I don't think it's really possible for anyone to get under Wlad's skin any more, he's seen it all before.

Let's hope it's a good fight however long it lasts, and whatever the outcome. A win for Fury would be great for the division, and mean we get some good fights in the future, but I just cannot see it.

He is comical, "I'm not named after a battleship" was my favourite until today, when he started on USS Cunningham.

What channel will it be shown on over here? Really looking forward to this fight. I get the impression that they actually quite like each other, but that won't stop it being an entertaining fight.

Yes, the animosity doesn't seem as real as it was for Wlad v Haye. I think Wlad actually finds Fury pretty amusing.

I don't think Tyson has genuinely disliked anyone except Price. He's not a feather duster man, but not particularly spiteful.

If someone screwed you out of £5million I would genuinely dislike them as well

He did look fvcking stupid when Naazim Richardson pointed out that more people would recognise him than Fury if they walked down the road in NYC right then, however.

He looked a lot more street than USS when he stuck the elbow on him and knocked him out with the other hand....

Doesn't look like 6' 9" vs. 6' 6" there.

Fury's shtick at the press conference was a lot more entertaining than anything Haye managed.
