The main one has to be that Mayweather vs Berto is not on PPV, because that is going to tank.

The second is that if it is on freeview, that it's not so early in the night that it becomes a highlight clip in an empty arena.
Yeah agree. Because it's Mayweather you will have a hell of a lot of casual fans only interested in the 'main event'. Absolute shambles of a fight. I still can't quite get my head round it.

it's not the best in pedigree terms but i bet it's a better fight than mayweather v pacquiao
That shouldn't be the bench mark. The guy is boxings biggest fighter, having his last fight and he fights Berto? What a lot of crap! Total joke!

I think someone is on the wind up here.

By your yardstick veriton, magic Matty hatton has bigger bragging rights than either of them!! Or Ashley theophane!!!

A Vegas undercard is great, but be realistic its night and day from being the main event. Will be half full at best and will feel like an afterthought in the build up, promotion and coverage.

And I like Groves by the way!!

pacquiao was the biggest fight of his career, and it turned out to be pretty poor for most people. i'd rather just see a good fight and berto will provide that. of course it would be better if it was porter, khan, brook, thurman etc but im really past caring with mayweather...

The biggest fight Groves will ever be involved in was Froch 2, which Fast Eddie promoted. I doubt he'll be losing sleep over this.

Headlining on Showtime against a former American boxing poster boy in the WBC fight of the year, is not comparable to fighting a paper champ Swede on the bottom rung of a 100-1 mismatch that has gone down like a sh*t sandwich ?

Not sure why Jack is getting so much heat. King Kong Froch said Groves wouldn't be a world champ because he would get beaten easily by Dirrell. Jack then went and beat Dirrel (deservedly) and now Jack becomes some paper champion in a meaningless fight (for some)

Strikes me as certain people just not wanting to give Groves any credit because they are on their knees 'worshipping' Carl. Pretty pathetic to be fair

I refer you to the rest of my post. So which is it...was Froch lying that Groves couldn't beat Dirrell because he is a prat, or are you a pratt for writing off the guy who beat the guy Groves couldn't possibly beat?

sorry pal, time to climb down off the froch jalopey and come back to reality.

froch couldnt even get on live british tv for the taylor fight, let alone a decent venue in the states. nobody was really that bothered, as taylor had been exposed at middleweight by pavlik (who really was America's poster boy at that time).

mayweather v berto hasnt gone down well with us anoraks but i bet normal people who realise its on free tv will watch it in their millions just to see mayweather in action.

honestly though, who cares who mayweather fights next? he just absolutely trounced his only serious rival, no one can match him....at least berto looks the part with his muscles and he will have a go.

No, I'm sorry for you.

There are people in this world that believe believe having won a WBC world title in a domestic fight of the year against Pascal, before going stateside in your very first defence of the belt, to win WBC fight of the year in his next fight against Jermain Taylor .... somehow doesn't compare with fighting an unknown Swede on the bottom of a Berto fight undercard.

You are one of those people.

As I said, Froch said that Groves couldn't beat Dirrell. Jack beats Dirrell and you say the fight is now a joke. But Jack beat a guy froch said Groves couldn't beat.Just makes no sense. I was looking for a proper discussion and you just go on like a prize one cretin with the brains of a rocking horse.

There seems to be an obsession here, and it is yours with Groves and bashing him for the sake of bashing him. It really is sad and I hope you don't pass that kind of mentality to any children you may or may not have

Your posts do go to show that the point I was making was rather valid as you have been incapable of referencing them. So thanks.

Thankfully others on here have more brains and better discussion skills than your good self
