LSC vs Mares - who wins it ?
Will Mares bounce back from that KO loss ?
Re: LSC vs Mares - who wins it ?
It is the right test for both; Mares on the rebound; Santa Cruz stepping it up.
Santa Cruz does not have the pop to off Mares early, but he will take advantage of his size advantage and Mares tendency to throw wide shots.
Mares has been in with better boxers and harder punchers. Santa Cruz has not.
I suppose the fight will ride on whether Mares can hurt Santa Cruz and (if so) how Leo responds.
I see a close fight with the decision being called a robbery by a substantial number of fans no matter who gets the nod.

Won't even make a prediction yet.
Too many variables...Mares has looked less than scintillating since the KO loss to Gonzalez. Santa Cruz appears to be more at the top of his game but he really hasn't fought any top calibre opponents. Mares has fought plenty.
Figures to be a very close fight that will go the distance.
Oddsmakers also having a problem figuring out who's better---they rate this fight even.

Maybe, but how much would you bet on it? Is anyone absolutely 100% certain about who's coming out on top in this one?

no. i am certainly not 100 % certainon this one. but i do believe that the more powerul lsc will brutalize mares in some rounds, like johnnie did, but mares will move around a lot, learnt from the jhonnie fight and survive till the end, but lsc should get his hand raised. good fight.

I have LSC winning this one pretty easily. Mares seems to struggle with mediocre opposition these days and maybe he just wasn't as good as we all thought he was. We were all stunned when he got taken out by JG but maybe it wasn't an upset at all? LSC's work rate is going to be too much to handle IMO

I'd pick Mares. He was in most P4P lists before he got knocked out [got caught cold]

Its sad that Rigo can't get one of these guys in the ring - LSC, Frampton or Quigg. On the other hand Donaire seems to be a desirable scalp for the guys who avoid Rigo.
