Lemieux

Post by ikorolev »

What do you think about his abilities ? Let's talk about CURRENT version of him and not the inexperienced 22-year old who felt dizzy from a bunch of easy KOs he achieved early in his career. Adding a poll.

Ok so let me analyse these current fights.

Lemieux vs Quillin = Lemieux wins Via Late Stoppage.

As we saw with the Rosado and the Lee fight Quillin has GREAT power, we cant deny that but we also cant deny that he is SCARED to engage, That will be the begging of the end for him against a Puncher like David. Lemieux will start the fight VERY agressively forcing Quillin to go on the defense and receive tons of damage, While I see Quillin also landing some huge shots (As David goes quite wide) I dont think anything will trouble him, earning the late TKO stoppage.

Lemieux vs Lee = Lemieux wins Via Early Stoppage

I highly rate Lee but his chin was never that good, and a very agressive Lemieux will be able to crack it quite early. Even though I give Lee a 35% chance to land a huge shot and KO David but I lean towards the early Lemieux Stoppage. Great Fight nonetheless

Lemieux vs Cotto = Lemieux wins Via Close UD

Cotto for me is the most difficult opponent out of these 3, In the Geale fight he showed he still has great skills, but what impressed me most was His Body work and Power increase for some reason. Maybe Freddie has something to do with this. He consistently landed to the body of Geale with ease and even though Geale was a Giant fight night 175Lb he was still not able to sustain the punishment, Lemieux will start agressively, Cotto will work to the body slow him down a little but after round 4-5 He will start picking Cotto with Hooks apart while Cotto will go Passive mode.

Now Canelo vs Lemieux is another story! :TU:

I agree with Aaronide_ger

vs Quillin clear favorite.
vs Lee clear favorite but Lee with punchers chance.
vs Cotto 50/50. If I had to choose I would favor Cotto slightly.

It was a lack of stamina that caught out Lemiux against Rubio, not a lack of chin.

I'm still not entirely convinced he can provide a challenge to Golovkin but he is well in the conversation in the group below. I would favour Quillin, but think he would beat Lee & Cotto. I would love to him vs BJS to see if the traveller has the chin he thinks.

I don't know how one can favor Quillin against Lemieux. Rosado and Lee fights showed that Quillin becomes very cautious (to not say scared) when hard punches are coming back. I think he is actually the easiest of the 3 for Lemieux to beat.

Great Poll! At first, since i'm a Lemieux fan i was about to click that he'd beat all of them but man, each of those fights would be pretty darn good.

Lee could easily land his right hand while Lemieux's coming in, windmill style with his chin up. I could definiteley see that. Quillin's got just as much power and is a better pure boxer in my opinion so he could definitely lose this one. Though i'm not buying the Roach improved Cotto hype because he's done nothing but beat garbage and one old champion but he's still an elite boxer that would have to be favored in that bout. All great bouts!

With that said, i still picked he'd win all 3. lol

I'd only pick him to beat Lee. I can see losing his title in the next 9 months.
I can see Quillin improving and I feel he under performed against Lee.
Cottos left hook I think finds him consistently for a late stoppage.

ALL great fights and none of my picks are certaintys.
Good poll.
