There's a huge difference between beating the reigning champion who holds the top belt in a recognized organisation, and winning the vacant second string belt when there is already a super champion in place above you.

Not the sort of difference a wily promoter is ever likely to alert people to. But people who genuinely follow the fight game know that the two achievements are absolutely poles apart.

I love Lester Ellis as a fighter and admire him greatly...but dont recognise him as a 5 time world champion.

I've never met a boxing fan who didn't love the 'Master Blaster', but I've never even thought of him as a 5 time world champion. If fact, I can't even remember reading that claimed about him. 5??
