Will Floyd EVER announce his opponent?

Post by CrazyHorse »

Man this is seriously getting on my nerves. Its what 6 weeks till the weigh in is right? Is this crap for real? Really am wondering if he will fight or not. Everyday i log on and look to see if there is an announcement and NOTHING. Am i the only one getting beyond frustrated?

Surely Floyd will announce "Tomato" Khan as his opponent right?

A lot of great fighters coming through just now, exciting fighters, technically brilliant fighters,i want to fight the best now kinda fighters, the future looks great as long as the fights get made

And seeing as the borefest of the century finally came and went with a whimper,Mayweather is becoming less and less relevant and i for one wouldnt care if he walked away now,he has nothing more to prove and since THAT fight the standard of CS has improved dramatically and boxing's in a better place,we can all finally move on a carry the sport into a new chapter

I say all this as a massive fan of Floyd Mayweather but do i want to see another 1 like him come through?

No thanks,i'd rather watch British title fights every week for the rest of days,i'd like people to replicate his skills and ringcraft but who needs another egomaniac holding boxing to ransom

Fvck me Floyd's still fighting and we've already got Broner here,it will get even worse

Ive got a copy of this months Boxing Monthly in front of me and im looking through the top 10 rankings in all weight divisions and Mayweather can fvck right off

Floyd's fighting Berto and I'm sure that Berto knows this but he's a Floyd puppet until Floyd's ready to announce it. I'm sure he's going to announce it on some stupid product that no one will buy...AGAIN. Let me guess...hmm....it's at MGM....Kenny Bayless will be the Ref...ummm he's got a several judges that he picks for those fights so hopefully they will be available. The Showtime crew will smoke his pole the whole night and we'll get spoon fed some junk fighters from Mayweather Promotions that will all end up with a needle in their arm in a year and a half. You fools will pay $99 for 4 of the worst fights you can watch. Me, i'll do anything but this time. Not eating at that restaurant again, thank you.

Floyd's not gonna announce his opponent, they're gonna wait for the night of the fight and then have him break through a brick wall, Shockmaster-style.

To be honest, who give a shit? The ones that always seem the most frustrated are the ones that hate Floyd. Personally, I am a big fan of Floyd's skills in the ring, but he is too much of a diva to actually like. Same goes for Cotto, Pac, Canelo, Khan, Ward, etc.

I only care as much as I do for any good fight. If FMJ chooses Thurman, Brook, Porter, Bradley, or Khan I will be excited for the fight. Berto is a doe puff.

Again, I am definitely on board and agree with you about Thurman, Brook, Porter, or Bradley, but NOT Khan. Khan struggled badly with Algieri. I have said all along Danny Garcia is much more deserving than Khan also, but as we know he has a fight vs Paulie very soon.

I personally hope Pac and Floyd retire soon, so these young gun wannabees actually have to fight each other.

All the talk about Khan being the guy with the speed, etc to trouble Floyd makes me laugh. Almost everyone he has fought has been slower than Floyd, and they all have been able to find Khan easily. It just amazes me that people think it would be a close fight.

I think FMJ would win by stoppage and I would thoroughly enjoy it. Khan is still far more deserving than Berto.

Do you think Floyd's impending opponent still doesn't know yet? Could that even be possible?

I think whoever it is does know, but sworn to secrecy since Floyd likes to announce it. Any likely candidate would be foolish not to be working out just in case.

It costs money to get suitable sparring partners that will have any semblance of floyds style, would you be paying them to come spar, accomodation, food etc if you had maybe a 10% or less chance of getting the fight, this is floyd manipulating the situation for his own benefit, nothing more

The opponent will be unmasked during the referee's instructions, much like the unmasking of Kendo Nagasaki! :OhYes:

Here's a question...how much do you think Floyd pays Dave Moretti? He's been Floyd's personal judge for every fight so i'm just wondering how much you think he gets greased. Imagine that? Have you ever heard of a boxer with his own judge he blatantly brings to each fight? Oh the sad state of the sport.

One of the most respected judges on the planet. The only fight I recall not being at least
in the realm of reality. In terms of his judging was the DeLahoya Sturm fight.Sturm easily won that
fight.
Hagler Leonard people still complain about his judging it for Leonard but that fight
still to this day gets argued. It was a close fight.

He was pretty far off in Maidana 1, IMO.
