Has David Haye become irrelevant to boxing?
Re: Has David Haye become irrelevant to boxing?
Just seen an interview with Seckbach about a week ago at the BJ Flores v Shumenov fight.

Still says he will come back but also looks a lot bigger than he did in his fighting days.
He may as well stay retired he won't have the speed and reflexes he used to have. Its been over 3 years, however Vitali Klitschko did come back after 4 years out so there is some hope for him I guess.

Do you think he will box again? I was in a corner shop in Northallerton yesterday and the owner said Haye was finished? Reckoned some bloke in the area told him....Spud wrote:

Fury was impressive but it's fair to say chisora didn't turn up that night. It was well documented he had been ill for a number of weeks close to the fight.Rexob wrote:mickey1975 wrote:I thought Fury did a better job on Chisora than Haye. Watching it at the time, I thought Haye was going to gas.
I think this is correct Haye had to take a few punches off Chisora to get his win, where Fury totally dominated Chisora from the first bell and didn't get touched all night an easy win for Fury.

Yes, not hard to beat an ambling punch bag.Finn wrote:Fury was impressive but it's fair to say chisora didn't turn up that night. What exactly was he sick with?

I thought it was a cold/flu type thing? There were definitely loads of rumours beforehand - I remember telling one of my mates not to bet on Chisora due to all the noises around his illness. In hindsight, maybe I should have charged him for my assistance, saved him a good bit of money there...jamesmcdonnell wrote:Yes, not hard to beat an ambling punch bag.Finn wrote:

5 pages of Boxrec posts means that Haye is still relevant.

I can't think of any more exciting heavyweights on there day.
Can't see him fighting again though. With Joshua getting more popular Haye will slowly fade to obscurity.

Keep telling people David Haye will fight again ...
My mate from the corner shop has never got it wrong and he tells me this year is still a likely possibility.

You watched his fights with Valuev and Wlad right? Hardly explosive performances from Haye.PredatorHayds wrote:I can't think of any more exciting heavyweights on there day.

Going by the 5 pages of this thread i would say we have our answer. David Haye, you're not irrelevant to British Boxing. Can we move on now?
Why was this guy never on Strictly Come Dancing With The Stars On Ice anyway? I thought everybody got on that show and Dave loves TV. And women. I'd have thought they'd be hammering his door down.

Any one with one punch power is exciting by heavyweight standards.jamesmcdonnell wrote:You watched his fights with Valuev and Wlad right? Hardly explosive performances from Haye.PredatorHayds wrote:I can't think of any more exciting heavyweights on there day.

There are very few knockout specialists in the current Top 10.
His knockout of Chisora was a exciting finish and that was his last fight .
Re: Has David Haye become irrelevant to boxing?
Take any HW discussion and someone will bring up David Haye out of blue. I think he will stay "relevant" until there is one Haye fan alive.palooka wrote:It's a slow news week.azzman wrote:5 pages of Boxrec posts means that Haye is still relevant.
BTW Chisora starts to meet the same trend.
