His out of the ring use of his fists is the main reason he boxes so rarely.

Definitely seems to be a pattern emerging here unfortunately. Maybe a change of environment should be considered.
Re: Jamie cox on domestic abuse charge against female
All I'll say for now is innocent until proven guilty. Once the court comes to a decision and the facts are published is the time to comment.
Re: Jamie cox on domestic abuse charge against female
Yeah, its a shame as he's a good boxer, its years ago he was in the ABA's and Commonwealth Games, I thought he would have really cracked on by now.CharlesListon wrote:His out of the ring use of his fists is the main reason he boxes so rarely.

Headline a bit sensational, if you actually read the article its probably more likely hes had an argument with a bird (mrs, ex maybe) and smashed a door when shes shut it in his face.
Not saying thats right but its hardly the woman beating image you get from the headline.
Best wait to see what comes out from court.

Has he been found guilty?Bendavis39 wrote:Just smashing a door would be criminal damage not assault as this states. Domestic abuse should never be condoned , I personally think it's disgusting behaviour for anyone let alone a sportsman

That was 5 years ago. I'll ask the same question again, has he been found guilty of any of the charges he's currently facing? Yes or no?Bendavis39 wrote:He was guilty before of assault. This guy finds it hard to keep calm out of the ring clearly.

He finds it hard to keep his hands above the belt if his fight against that lad from Ghana is anything to go by. Put me right off the bloke from then.Bendavis39 wrote:He was guilty before of assault. This guy finds it hard to keep calm out of the ring clearly.
Re: Jamie cox on domestic abuse charge against female
What many don't know and jamie didn't moan about was that his hand pretty much shattered to pieces early in that fight against sai , to even finish the fight shows what a warrior he is. Can't blame him for the judging.
allegedly claimed it was the worst hand he had seen in boxing.
Hope all this ends next Friday and looking forward to seeing him in some big fights.

Down to the referee to put a stop to it, it's a fight, you do what you have to do to get the win, don't blame the fighter for it.Talkischeap wrote:He shattered his left hand in the 3rd round in that fight & was told by two leading hand surgeons he would never fight again that may give you an understanding of why he was a little south with his shots. Jamie also sustained two bad cuts one from a headbutt the other from an elbow. Jamie will do nobody any favours when that bell goes & expects none in return. I've said it before them that love Jamie have much to look forward too God spare us them that don't, well jealousy is an illness get well soon xBigRed wrote:He finds it hard to keep his hands above the belt if his fight against that lad from Ghana is anything to go by. Why does breaking your hand mean you can hit the other guy in the bollocks ?Talkischeap wrote:He shattered his left hand in the 3rd round in that fight & was told by two leading hand surgeons he would never fight again that may give you an understanding of why he was a little south with his shots. I am not commenting on the court case but I remember that fight well and he was a bit on the dirty side.

Jamie is a hell of a formidable fighter in the ring and a fantastic kid out of the ring. I've personally got all the time in the world for the lad, fantastic fella, and from a boxing fans point of view as well has working in the sport I'm a big fan of Jamie's, He's got skills for fun and is a extremely vicious puncher with bad intentions and spite, a very exciting young fighter, people need to stop bad mouthing him or talking rubbish especially about a incident they know nothing about. Guarantee this will all come clear and Jamie's name will be cleared, then let's hope many of you are as quick to jump on here and apologise for jumping the gun and assuming or bad mouthing, and be quick to start talking about his talent and encouraging him.

Sad thing is when that happens I bet the paper don't do a big article on him being cleared!Boxingcutsman wrote:Jamie is a hell of a formidable fighter in the ring and a fantastic kid out of the ring. getting into a bit of a row 5 and half years ago doesn't mean you can't be a decent person now does it?los2 wrote:"fantastic kid out of the ring"............

He's really good to watch in the ring, like to see him in with a good opponent at this new weight. He seems to have some temperament issues outside it though. Hope he can get on with his career.
Re: Jamie cox on domestic abuse charge against female
That is some strange logic.Talkischeap wrote:Thats all he should be judged on Jamie is TV he brings it every time he fights & has done from a kid.
We are all judged on what we do - it is not possible to say "just judge me on the good bits and ignore the bad bits".
Re: Jamie cox on domestic abuse charge against female
If someone tries judging me I get all uppity and say 'Judge not, lest ye be judged' but I have to admit I'm a right horrible judgemental twat.

It's different for professional sportsmen though. Personally I couldn't really care less what they do outside of the sport, unless it has an impact on their performance (unless we're talking murder or something, obviously).bripez wrote:That is some strange logic.Talkischeap wrote:Thats all he should be judged on Jamie is TV he brings it every time he fights & has done from a kid.

The guys an arsehole and his attitiude stinks. His pro career will never amount to anything because his hasn't the discipline to fulfill his true potential.

Respect to Brian Rose on his win the other weekgmanji wrote:The guys an arsehole and his attitiude stinks. His pro career will never amount to anything because his hasn't the discipline to fulfill his true potential.
How do you feel a bout between Rose and Cox would play out?
