Its how you get the A-Lister. For 35-0, Brooks record definitely looks slightly padded and would definitely like to see him in with a Bradley, Thurman, Maidana even Marquez. I just don't see how Eddie is going to get any of them over here. So he fights another fringe contender... and we are no further forward. Ideally, try and make a Garcia/Peterson (still Light w/w??).. then you have "I beat the guys who beat you" angle.sweetscience wrote:dnt disagree with it happening next but I am not the one getting hit/paidBigdogsnose wrote:In fairness to Brook, genuinely believe he wants a better standard of opponent but finding it difficult to make the fights due to Matchrooms lack of clout across the pond. BOTH will fights sub standard oppo.. Khan slightly better... But Khan to get more internet abuse
Khan ... Fairly sure Al Haymon could make any fight Khan wanted, but he's not seemed interested in a long while now. Playing the game.. waiting for the big one.
Brook v Khan is a natural fight NOW. Plenty of interest NOW. Its only Khan who doesn't want it.
I can see Khan point of view about Brook fighting bums and getting his dream fight.... khans been fighting a better standard of opponents and still not got his dream fight
Brook should just fight 1 more A lister... then there is NO ARGUMENT left
Khan's next outing

Re: Khan's next outing
khan is still lacking a genuine ww victory on his cv. collazo being the only career welter he has beat, but old past his best and not really a top ww these days. the best offer he is gonna get is brook, but either khan or his people know that a certain ko loss is on the cards.

hearns reluctance to take a punt annoys me
if its not a profit on the day they wont do it
they need to 'pay' for a big name... then reap the investment
brooks done all the work so far (going beating the champ on an away card)
hearn needs to dig deep (for once)

In fairness, Khan was offered a huge purse to fight Brook.sweetscience wrote:hearns reluctance to take a punt annoys me

I agree. If he is as confident in brook as he makes out on the tv then he should speculate to accumulate. Brook beating a top welter throws all the pressure on khansweetscience wrote:hearns reluctance to take a punt annoys me

He's a lot more qualified than Berto.Pugilist-specialist wrote:Khan's best win at WW is Alexander (who lost to Porter). Does this make him more qualified than any other welterweight to box Mayweather?PredatorHayds wrote: I'd say no. Khan has been impressive at WW with some good wins.
Garcia has only had the Malinaggi fight at WW so against Floyd at WW I'd say Khan was more qualified.
He could of fought Brook, Thurman or Bradley but I feel Khan brings more to the table. Risk versus reward.

Bradley costs the most money. Last few fights he's been around the 2 million mark Khan has been earning closer to 1 million.

That's due to the lack of interest because of the opposition. You think he'd be happy with just 1 or 2 million against FloydPredatorHayds wrote:Bradley costs the most money. Last few fights he's been around the 2 million mark Khan has been earning closer to 1 million.

You underestimate Bradley's cost. He got 2million against Chaves.freddydoesdallas wrote:That's due to the lack of interest because of the opposition. PPV wise I say Khan gets more buys that Bradley

Course i do. Do you understand that khan would want a bigger split of the purse despite not really bringing anything significant to the table.PredatorHayds wrote:You underestimate Bradley's cost. Re: Khan's next outing
I disagree. I think Bradley would want a bigger split of the purse.
Khan realises he plays second fiddle to the Mayweather show.
I get the impression Bradley likes being one of the TR top earners.
Realistically Mayweather will only fight a Haymon fighter now.
The huge question that we need to think about is that the biggest fight for his 50th is the Canelo-Cotto winner. Will he go against Haymon and fight either GBoy Canelo or TR Cotto. UNLIKELY.
If not then then the huge 50th show pretty much looks like Khan, Garcia or Thurman.

Khan has said he is fighting Thurman or Pacquiao next according to google news. Don't know how reliable that is.

Khan hasn't won a world title fight for 4 years, Brook and Bradley are WW world champions. Bradley has a win over Pacquiao.PredatorHayds wrote:.

Porter was a WW champ and has a win over Floyd's pal (Broner)
Brook, Thurman and Garcia are undefeated. Garcia knocked Khan out.

The article refers to khan being a front runner for the third time. Is this a view held across the water or is it just what the UK thinks?Pugilist-specialist wrote:Khan - "Mayweather is scared of me" :

Khan needs meaningful title fights now, he can't keep treading water now he's going to have to risk it for a biscuit.
