Ievgen Khytrov vs. Nick Brinson & Sergiy Derevyanchenko vs. Elvin Ayala on Showtime

Brinson gets the shit beaten out of him in the 7th....10-8 round w/o a knockdown imo.
67-65 IK

Wow.
I'm curious to see what these cards were going into the last round.

Brinson down and stopped in the 8th. He did well in the first half but clearly started fading in the 5th and it was downhill from there.
Khytrov looked very limited.

Brinson was way ahead on cards. Which is a complete joke. One guy had him up 70-62. All he had to do was finish fight and he wins.
Re: Ievgen Khytrov vs. Nick Brinson & Sergiy Derevyanchenko vs. Elvin Ayala on Showtime
70-62 is a horrific card.
That means that judge gave him the 7th, a round in which he had the shitt beaten out of him.

Deceryanchenko better take note of these cards. The Russian "house" fighters will get no favors here.

Surely that's a mix-up....the 7th was arguably 10-8 without a KD and the judge gives it to Brinson?
I can see a crooked judge scoring it 70-62 Khytrov but giving the 7th to Brinson is off the charts bad...

Yes that scorecard is crazy. :(crusader wrote:Surely that's a mix-up....the 7th was arguably 10-8 without a KD and the judge gives it to Brinson?

SD looking the better of the Ukranians.
Re: Ievgen Khytrov vs. Nick Brinson & Sergiy Derevyanchenko vs. Elvin Ayala on Showtime
One more thing about Brinson-Khytrov that makes me sure Khytrov was ahead......the one judge had it 70-62, meaning an 8 point gap after 7. I find it very hard to believe that even a horrific judge would find a way to give Brinson a 10-8 round, but clearly 10-8 IK was arguable for the 7th.

Khytrov looked so bad tonight. His ceiling is clearly limited. Devery looks the better prospect. His balance and ability to cut the ring is much better. He also rolls with punches much better.
Re: Ievgen Khytrov vs. Nick Brinson & Sergiy Derevyanchenko vs. Elvin Ayala on Showtime
He was also lackluster in his two fights before this. Brinson isn't bad but I don't think a serious contender would struggle with him like that.
Re: Ievgen Khytrov vs. Nick Brinson & Sergiy Derevyanchenko vs. Elvin Ayala on Showtime
I can't believe Brinson won the first 7 rounds on 1 card. Someone gave him the 6th and 7th? That's just sheer corruption.
Re: Ievgen Khytrov vs. Nick Brinson & Sergiy Derevyanchenko vs. Elvin Ayala on Showtime
SD doesn't seem to have the biggest punch but overall he looked solid and definitely much better than Khytrov.
That was a huge letdown as a IK fan, though he was fun to watch as usual.

Re: Ievgen Khytrov vs. Nick Brinson & Sergiy Derevyanchenko vs. Elvin Ayala on Showtime
First time i'd seen Derevyanchenko and he looks a solid pressure fighter, busy and didnt give Ayala any breathing space whatsoever,he does look naturally heavy handed but he never looked like stopping Elvin until the last round although if Ayala retired on his stool between rounds i wouldnt have been overly surprised,Sergiy did look like he was headhunting throughout though and when he did let the left hooks to the body go in the last round that was when he had Ayala in trouble
All in all i was impressed but Khytrov failed to impress me again though,he just looks so basic and methodical and i thought Brinson deserved a count so he at least had a chance to make it to the cards after the showing he gave

Just watched the Khytrov fight. He clearly needs a new trainer. His current trainers are making another Curtis Stevens out of him. Khytrov who schooled Murata in amateurs is gone.diddy wrote:Khytrov looked so bad tonight. His ceiling is clearly limited. Devery looks the better prospect.
