Antonio Tarver vs. Steve Cunningham - August 15th 2015
Who's everyone picking for this fight and why?
Re: Antonio Tarver vs. Steve Cunningham - August 15th 2015
I think Tarver wins based on his experience, Cunningham could outwork him but Antonio will more than likely limit him to looking for one big punch that he will probably never land. One of my friends is going to the fight.wesshaw1985 wrote:Who's everyone picking for this fight and why?

I picked Cunningham, but Tarver may win due to steroids....unless he gets caught again.

Cunningham will be the better fighter on fight night. Whether he wins or not is up to the judges who have been finding ways to screw him as of late.
Re: Antonio Tarver vs. Steve Cunningham - August 15th 2015
A lot of trash was spoken by Cunningham which seems to be out of character for him during their phone conference, Tarver came off as the more respectful player and held his own very well.

Re: Antonio Tarver vs. Steve Cunningham - August 15th 2015
Cunningham simply because Tarver is a 46-year-old part time boxer.
As a heavyweight this will be the first time Tarver is stepping in the ring with an opponent who will actually try to win the fight.

Re: Antonio Tarver vs. Steve Cunningham - August 15th 2015
Im struggling to pick this one,i'll give the slight edge to Cunningham as he's the younger and more active fighter and he was unlucky against Glaskov,Tarver's looked pretty good himself when he actually fights but assuming he's drug free then at 46,he could easy grow old in a single fight
I shouldn't but i quite like this fight and am looking forward to it,also looking forward to Huck defending his WBO Cruiserweight title on the undercard against Glowacki, the Cruisers are always fun

I like this fight too and I actually hope Tarver wins it.
A Tarver win eliminates the possibility of Huck wanting to move up to heavyweight for a rematch with Cunningham. I always look forward to seeing Huck fight but I have zero interest in seeing a rematch with Cunningham.

I was hoping for Huck to move up to challenge Wilder.Perseus wrote:I like this fight too and I actually hope Tarver wins it.

I should change my pick since for some odd reason this fight isn't having any random testing before the fight. All of these free TV fights were supposed to have it. Stupid move by Cunningham to not assure that it happened. I'll just stay with Cunningham and hope for the best - and hope Tarver gets caught again.

Isn't this fight tomorrow (August 14th) not the 15th?

Re: Antonio Tarver vs. Steve Cunningham - August 15th 2015
He's 8 pounds lighter than his last fight, which was also his best win at heavyweight. So I don't think there's an issue with him being fat.
Also, he's 46, that's old for a boxer, which is a fact of life. But Antonio Tarver falls in the company of some of the most well-preserved boxers at a late age, like Bernard Hopkins, George Foreman, Glen Johnson, etc.. 46 for Tarver is the equivalent of like... 35-36 for a normal boxer. Tarver debuted at age 29, peaked at age 35, and at 46 is not yet so declined as to warrant retirement.

Great fight.
Proper 50/50 fight. Cunningham close points decision.
Hucks got a tough fight on the undercard but should prevail via points aswell.
