If John's is wanting to get back up there these are the type of fights he needs. Sam's had a very busy 3 years and has done great!!

jonp wrote::TU: with Johns massive wins over Lazlo fazekas and Jay morris in the last three years i guess a letter will be the best way to get a title shot.

3 or 4 good wins over good names the way sam has will set him up perfectly for a title shot.

Till then daft publicity stunts dont really help
I agree with this and would add disrespectful and disingenuous to the word daft. It's rude, arrogant and seems to be backed up by a guy that's been out the ring for quite a long time who I used to see on ITV4 circa 2010! I realise it's boxing and that the insults are not really, he merely wants to set a fight up, but I find that letter a bit embarrassing tbh.
I always prefer people that quietly go and get on with their business and just do it, rather than start off by spouting about what they are going to do.

O'Donnell needs to put down the pen and strap on the gloves - he isn't going to win any fans calling out a proven warrior like Eggington.

Who did Eggington write 'open letters' to on the way up? Oh that's right, he didn't. He just took every fight offered to him and capitalised on his opportunities.

If O'Donnell wants to gatecrash title clash he would be better off knuckling down and getting some quality wins under his belt.

I can't remember the last time O'Donnell fought.

haha seeing as the first one was such a success decided to do it again :TU:
Worst thing is if steve had rang and asked about it,if the board would have passed it im sure it could have been in oct.
but like i say if we now respond by giving a title shot to someone because they have demanded it in an open letter and been a bit insulting these letters would never stop, why would boxers box anymore when a insulting letter can do the job of a couple of fights.

Must admit I defended him slightly after the first one but it is all getting a bit desperate now.

Like you say everyone would be sending letters in it sounds like the Evans fight can be made he should just concentrate on that.

Lol i said this to a couple of people Micky.John signs with new promoters suddenly gets a loud voice on twitter in an obnoxious manner hes not shown before hmm sherlock holmes is not required :TU:
Jon

1) John runs his own twitter account. We have never asked him to write anything on it and have no influence over it.
2) john sent a letter to us asking us to release it. We did that (our job)
3) Our job is also to arrange for John to do interviews with the press. He has two coming up this week (our job)
4) We have never told John to chase Sam neither have we ever suggested to him that Sam should be his next fight
5) We approached the board of control and asked them to sanction a bout with Dale Evans (we have never asked for the Sam fight)

So the above shows Sherlock Holmes has got his case wrong. So inference to us to totally incorrect. All we are doing is the role John employs us to do.

If he does something stupid and inadvisable it's your job to advise him not to; not to go along with it. So at the very least you agree with his course of action or you wouldn't be on here publicising it. Quite poor form to try and put all the blame on him, to be honest.

I went to an O'Donnell fight once. He fought Stuart Elwell. After 10 minutes of that fight you'd never have got a bet on it finishing inside the distance but one way or another Elwell would not be budged. Yes, John looked a class fighter. I heard he had a perforated drum in America - could be true, could be made up - got no reason to think it would be a lie. I believe he sparred with Oscar De La Hoya and Shane Moseley that week in the States. It's a very tough sport to reach the top in, talent or not.

I was only young, but it was funny, not as funny as John's attempt to pass that article off his own...

The only things that people should "pen" are sheep. Letters should be written! As for open letters, they are rather like blogs in that they always seem inadvertently to say more about the writer than the recipient or the subject matter - for example http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-07-06/m ... er/6599094

I think the letter has done what it was supposed to & got John a lot of publicity & started the ball rolling... I dont think he would ever have thought he would get Eggington after being so inactive or that he would be coming in at a British/European level.
What it has done is made everyone aware that he is now active again after a lean few years.

Eggington would deal with him like he is dealing with all his opponents atm, he is vicious. Most exciting fighter out there in the UK.
