Shane Mosley vs Ricardo Mayorga 2!!!!

Post by GilFilmore »

It's apparently going down. A picture was posted on Mosley's Instagram and Twitter showing both guys holding signed contracts.

Hearing rumors that this bout will be the supporting fight to Leo Santa Cruz vs Abner Mares

Thoughts??????????

Should be fun.......the 1st fight was really good. Mote worried with Mayorga making 154 when the fight is next month, especially with his age. Mosley has stayed in shape.

Mayorga gets called a joke but his fights with Mosley and Cotto were close good fights. He faired a hell of a lot better than Margarito did against Mosley.

At least they are from the same generation in boxing. It's better that they fight each other rather than be used as name opponents to build up some younger fighters records. I hate when up-and-comers get matched with former big-name fighters who are way past their prime just to get a name on their record.

I love fights where the sponsors are Ben-gay,The ARP,and Meta mucil.
Guaranteed they won't loose money with sponsorship support.

Mosley looks in tip top shape.
I can see him winning this quite easy.
Really hope the win doesn't make him decide to give the world scene another go.
Hope he retires with facultys in tact after this fight. Great fighter and great guy.

I spoke with Larry recently and even at his advanced age he is 100% certain he could
still compete in the division today. :OhYes:

I dont mind it if it's competitive. They arent calling out Floyd or anything unrealistic. Let th guys go at it and hopefully will be entertaining to watch.

Pretty damn sad.

It will be on Aug. 29, the same date as Mares-Santa Cruz, but it won't be on the same card.

The Mares bout will be on ESPN (perhaps its best fight ever) while Mosley-Mayorga is slated for (drum roll please) PAY-PER-VIEW!

Who here wouldn't pay whatever the asking price is to see these two grizzled warrior go at it one more time?

This is the true Fight of the Century...or is it the Fight of the Centenarians?

This is completely embarrassing for all parties, looks like someone needs a handout pity payout.

This is all these guy know and is the only way either can make a decent wage. They're going to fight again regardless. It's better they fight each other and not some young strong fighter.

It could prove to be entertaining.

Also, Zab Judah may possibly return on this card.

Mayorga is a disgrace to boxing. Coming into the presser smoking a cigarette? WTF? He is a sad sack of shit.

Oh no, not Leonard -v- Hagler 2! :witzend: :oo

I can't be doing with another 25 years of Hagler whining because he pissed away the fight instead of putting some hurt on Leonard!

Just watched the presser. I think Shane is showing the signs of been punch drank. I guess he is trying to establish his promotional busyness but really should he be taking chances with his health.

Mosley has been established as a rather heavy 5 1/2-1 favorite over Mayorga.

At this point, I wouldn't make Mosley a heavy betting favorite over a corpse.

Mayorga saying some crazy stuff lately....he claims he will put Mosley into a coma after round, was sure Cotto had illegal hand wraps when they fought, and will use GGG as a sparring partner if he needs work. (had no idea who GGG was)

I'd rather sit in a puddle of my own urine, naked, flicking a light switch on and off for a couple of hours instead, but thanks.
