Whats with the Mayweather pads?
Re: Whats with the Mayweather pads?
Heard an interview with Danny Davis, who is in the Hopkins camp, and he said he didn't rate the Mayweather style of pad work; Freddie Roach is the best padman out there at the moment in Davis's opinion.

Wouldn't that be just for the cameras?
Re: Whats with the Mayweather pads?
That's always what I thought, but there's enough idiots out there that will blindly copy anything he does that there are some trainers who take fighters on the pads like that. Tunde Ajayi is a very good(or bad if you're talking about his padwork) example of it.King Tubby wrote:Wouldn't that be just for the cameras?

Just like a footballer doing tricks for the cameras. Showboating, nothing more

It reminds me off martial arts set moves, they build reaction speed and muscle memory but its sparring that is the most important z surely? The pads seem to get Floyd arms used to extending thousands of times over an hour so will be good for stamina.

I don't even think it looks any good, just reminds me of the girls at primary school doing those hand clap games, or a couple of Soho queens Poppered up to the max, bitch slapping each other over a drip of piss on the bog seat.

Whatever he does works.

Yes. This is correct. I would say to any "idiots who will blindly follow anything that Floyd does", could choose a far worse role model to copy off. A video would have been helpful - but I've seen his pit-a-pat sessions for the cameras before - not least when he came over to London a couple of years ago.
There's no need to be going hell for leather on the pads anyway. I'm sure it's all just part of his fine tuning. In actual fact, I would go as far as to say that the moves that Mayweather relies upon in the ring are not the ones he's been doing on the pads in the last month or two - he's got that stuff locked down in his mind from donkeys years ago and he can call upon it at any time.
I also don't think he's retiring after fighting Berto either

I always thought he was just playing patty cake, patty cake, baker's man?

Anyone remember hatton on the pads when billy graham had the headcam on. That was impressive.

Yeah Hatton really sorted Mayweather out, didn't he? "oh wait"
Re: Whats with the Mayweather pads?
Very good, because Mayweather stopped Hatton he's not allowed to look impressive in training. Ok then.Rexob wrote:Emmseegee wrote:Anyone remember hatton on the pads when billy graham had the headcam on. That was impressive.

His dad or uncle always seems to be doing most of the work during Mayweather's pad sessions.
