So i guess me saying that it is a crap fight isn't enough for you, wow you can really be such an ass. You guys are so funny to me because you act as if a person who says they are the best ever is such a damn crime, what is he supposed to say about himself?

You also act as because he said he was the best that he has to go out there and prove it against every fighter/he has to beat everyone from WW to HW, the state of today's boxing fan is gone to hell in a handbasket for sure.

When Ali was calling himself the greatest after he beat Liston he didn't receive any flak, now Floyd says he's the best and today's boxing fans flip like total retards about it as though he hasn't already done enough (not necessarily to say he's the best) but generally speaking.

Had Ali really done enough at the time he beat Liston to label himself "The Greatest". I don't think so but of course it's Floyd we're talking about here and I know how much y'all hate him especially since he beat Manny easily, he will never receive fair criticism without personal bias, there will always be hate underneath the surface.

Yes, this is a crap fight, that's not an excuse and yes, it still is a buddy fight too, will I pay for the PPV, hell no but I will watch it when I can see it for free. Doesn't mean I condone it, I just understand that he's hooking up a friend, the same way Byrd did for Davarryl Williamson.

On one hand kbb, your saying its a crap fight and in the same breath your giving floyd a pass because it's a buddy fight, what would you be writing on this forum if pacquaio was having a BUDDY fight with someone ranked at 20, who lost 3 of his last 6 to average opponents, before you answer think seriously about your response, I know you don't like this fight and good on you for saying so, so many others wouldn't say that but thay know it stinks anyway, you would be outraged if it was pacquaio in this situation

Floyd
Hatton, JMM, Mosley, Ortiz, Cotto, Guerrero, Alvarez, Maidana, Maidana, Manny

JMM
Juan Diaz, Floyd, Juan Diaz, Katsidis, Ramos, Manny, Fedchenko, Manny, Bradley, Alvarado

Froch
Dirrell, Kessler, Abraham, Johnson, Ward, Bute, Mack, Kessler, Groves, Groves

Manny
Clottey, Margarito, Mosley, JMM, Bradley, JMM, Rios, Bradley, Algieri, Floyd

Floyd's two "easy fights"
against Ortiz (Ranked #2 at 147) 16 month layoff.
against Guerrero (Ranked #3 at 147) 12 month layoff including jail.

It seems like Floyd is the only one of these 4 who haven't have a "fight off" in the last 10.
Once again, MY STANCE - If you demand top dollar you should always fight the best.
But according to the standards that many of you use, you can't be upset about Floyd VS Berto.

Just admit that your problem is you don't like the guy.
As for me, I'll watch the fight free somehow.

For me Guerrero ranks right along side Algieri, very predictable fighter who comes straight forward but I notice you didn't highlight his name, the self confessed best ever should fight the best available opponent and that is far far better than berto

Your 3G v FMJ shtick is old and tired. While I don't like FMJ v Berto (or Maidana twice, Guerrero, Ortiz, SSM, or JMM), FMJ should not be criticized for not making a 3G fight. It was never going to happen and nobody (including you) should care.

Here's how; there weren't a thousand threads or complaints when Danny Garcia fought Rod Salka, there wasn't a thousand threads or complaints when Leo Santa Cruz fought that Montana/Tomato dude whatever the hell his name was. Those were buddy fights but yet you saw minimal mention of it but nowhere near the whining, bitching and moaning the vast majority are doing here.

Personally I hate that Floyd is trying to line the pockets of his friend while padding his ledger with another O but I do understand it though I wish he had made this fight sooner rather than later. After careful consideration I see why he took this fight now rather than earlier, but that's another thread by itself on this forum so I will keep that to myself.

I won't spin it or justify his selection in any way, shape or form but here are some facts we know about Berto:

Never in a dull fight
Win, lose or draw he always brings it to his opponent
Not exceptionally a good defensive fighter but offensively he is a force and he does throw punches and come forward.

Personally I don't believe this will be a dull fight, I believe Berto will come to try and do the impossible but please keep this following thing in mind:

Strange things has always happened to fighters who got close to Rocky Marciano's record, remember Larry Holmes??
This is what I was thinking.

Maybe Floyd gets too mentally relaxed because of the poor quality of opponent - Berto sees the opportunity of a lifetime....who knows.

Stranger things have indeed happened.

GGG is a small MW who has stated he is willing to fight floyd at 154, floyd holds the WBC and WBA belt at 154, floyd stated he was too smart for GGG a couple of weeks ago, canelo is bigger than GGG, where is the problem, P4P#1 v P4P#3, should be no problem for TBE, or do you tanzio feel cherry picking is a good way to improve boxing, UFC is so popular because all of the top contenders are made to fight each other

I'd love to see Mayweather-Golovkin.

I'm not fan of Mayweather at all. But despite this I can't criticize the guy for not wanting to fight a bigger man. Just as I wouldn't have criticized Marquez and Pac if they hadn't have fought Mayweather.

That's an odd comparison. Mayweather and Pacquiao are about the same size. Floyd might be a few pounds bigger but it's almost a negligible amount. Marquez was a few pounds lighter but by his last few fights he'd definitely bulked up to Floyd/Pac levels.

On the other hand, Golovkin has like 20 pounds on Floyd.

You're right about that odd comparison, even more by fight night, he rehydrates to170 and we all know that Floyd normally loses weight by fight night, so we're easily looking at a near 25lb weight advantage for GGG.

Pac's best was 126-130. Mayweather 135-140

I don't know what you're trying to say here, I'm talking about what weight they are in the ring on fight night. Floyd and Pac are around 150, give or take a couple pounds. Marquez used to be less but he eventually bulked up to something around the 150 level himself. Golovkin is like 170.

3G is not a small MW. Canelo is not bigger than 3G. FMJ has cherry picked quite a bit but not fighting 3G is not an example of that. 3G has been an MW his whole pro career.

Your argument has no credibility. I would be interested in the fight happening but it has never been a realistic possibility.

Why aren't you as critical of 3G not moving up to face Ward etc?

I agree that FMJ's 154 belt(s) are bullshit and carry asterisks. I also think that 3G would be foolish to suck down to 154.

We're wasting our time trying to explain this to these guys, they hate Floyd and do not want to give him any credit for anything. It's pathetic the way these so called boxing fans act these days, I've never seen such an outcry of little girl's emotions.

Floyd did not invent the "Buddy Fight" concept, do we agree with his selection, no but we understand it.

Maybe you should check before you state things tanzio, GGG makes weight extremely easily, never looks drawn and rehydrates to around 170 for fight night, Canelo rehydrates to between 172-174 generally on fight night, have you ever seen a fight where GGG looks the bigger of the 2, he said himself that he could make 154 without too much stress, you may like cherry picking but I certainly don't, it's not good for boxing and as for kbb, your giving him a pass BY saying this is a buddy fight, describe it as it should be described, a FARSE

Either you are insanely stupid or really blind, I made it clear that this is a waste of a fight, I also said it was a buddy fight and I understand it, but what part of that equates to me giving it a pass.

What is so hard to understand, there is no such thing as a buddy fight, your terminology, that's just an excuse, this is professional boxing, would you UNDERSTAND it so well if it was pacquaio having a BUDDY fight, definately not, so you saying that he's just giving a friend a payday is a pass in my eyes, you have one rule for floyd and another rule for all other fighters

I'm just saying that beating a guy at his best weight class is different to beating him in a higher weight class.

A victory over Robinson by a rival welter as a welter is far more impressive than a middleweight beating him.

Pac isn't great at 147 (he's very good). At 130-126 he's all-time top material.

I could hit the roids and bulk up to 270 but Wlad would still hold all the advantages that come with his size.
