Golovkin vs Lemieux Tickets Prediction

Post by Aaronide_ger »

So again, im making a poll here, how many tickets do you think this event will sale?

Pre-sale just started and everyone has started buying, Tom Loeffler just posted on twitter: "MSG reports that GGG vs Lemieux is the fastest selling PreSale they have ever had in boxing"

So some facts(Ticket prices included):

2015 Golovkin vs Monroe (The Forum - May) = 12,372
* 300$
* 200$
* 100$
* 60$
* 30$
2014 Golovkin vs Rubio (Stubhub - October) = 9323
* 210$
* 105$
* 53$
* 27$
2014 Golovkin vs Geale (MSG - July) = 8572
* 500$
* 300$
* 200$
* 100$
* 50$

The Ticket prices for the GGG-Lemieux matchup will be:
* 500$
* 300$
* 200$
* 100$
* 50$

The Maximum capacity at MSG (Via Wiki) is 20,789, Klitschko vs Jennings did 17,056 with higher ticket prices.

I lean towards Gennady doing 19.000+.

Edited News:

12/8/2015

Pre-Sale ends with 6K tickets sold in just 2 days, a record for any boxing MSG event.

29/9/2015

Over 20.000 Tickets sold, just 292 tickets remaining.

The tickets for GGG's previous fights were considerably cheaper.
I have no idea how many it will sell at these prices.Nothing to really base an estimate off of.

"Tom Loeffler says all the $500 seats are sold-out, they may make room on the floor to open up more"

@Tiny I am just asking an estimation, I dont think it is that hard.

Also you are missing something, the tickets against Geale had the EXACT same price. That fight had 8,5 K attendance in the mid of the summer when Golovkin was not that known.

His popularity has growed ENORMOUSLY.

2500 pre-sale tickets sold out in 90 minutes yesterday so I'm guessing it'll be sold out (or very close to)

From Wales? How much will the travel cost you?

I am from Greece and I wanted to go for a GGG fight to the US numerous times but I am worried that the price with travel costs will exceed 1000 Euros.

i wouldn't compare this to the Geale fight, since MSG didn't announce which room (felt forum/theatre at MSG vs Main Room) until a few weeks before the fight. Once the sold numbers went past about 80% of the theatre they opened up a lot more blocks.

Was at that one and honestly, place felt empty. Was hoping for a fight in the theatre which would have been electric.

I see this one filling almost the entire lower bowl and some of the blue seats -- say 13k

You mean Ali-Frazier I didn't have a pre-sale that went through the roof in seconds?

Or are these stats only from the more modern computer age, when duckets can now be purchased on line?

I'm highly skeptical of what MSG or fight promoters claim. It's not like BS isn't common in boxing when trying to hype a fight.

In fact, promotional BS is the rule, not the exception in the sport.

Hello European hater saying GGG will sell under 7K tix at the forum and GGG will never out sell a Popular marquee name "Juan Manuel Marquez"

Coming again to say Bs like this, MSG said it is a record accept it.

"Ali, a 7 to 5 favorite, and Frazier fought before a crowd of 20,748, which produced a live gate of $1,052,688. "

Which means the AVG ticket was 50$, nothing to compare really.

I'm not certain what you're babbling about, but if you say it, I believe it.

Who told you, though, that Ali was a 7-5 favorite in the Fight of the Century? Frazier went in a 6 1/2 - 5 choice.

Of course, being an economics wiz, I'm sure you realize that a bit of inflation has kicked in during the past 40 + years. Those $50 or so tickets back in the 70s meant a lot more to fans than the overpriced $300 ones do today.

BTW, Aaron---don't take it for granted when the promoters release attendance figures for these fights. They include all the freebies they routinely give away to paper the house. Like money, attendance is grossly inflated.

Avoiding my answer about THE FORUM tickets prediction where u made a HUGE FUSS about GGG not being a draw and predictin Under 7K ticket sells, Ali was a 7-5 favorite in the second fight, u didnt even realise i copied a quote from the 2nd fight.

I agree that the tickets meant more back then.

What is this promoters release attendance figures? Its not just Tom Loeffler, EVERY SINGLE boxing site has these figures as news.

And if u still DONT believe all of this, then wait for 17th October, u will be surprised.. AGAIN.

Yeah he made a complete fool of himself when he made that prediction, just as he did saying Hopkins would School Kovalev. He said yesterday all European's take easy fights so I had to list the MANY American's who are scared to take a risky fight like Wilder. His bigotry opinions mean nothing and nobody ever agrees with him.

75% of 34 votes in this poll voted "Sold out" Guess what guys, you were right, thats amazing news.

Only 292 Tickets left with 19 days left to the fight.. this will sold out days before the fight even starts, its going to be an amazing event.

More than 20.000 people in that stadium, I wish I was born in the US.
