boxrec forums poor since change

was discussing with a mate that since the layout of boxrec, both main pages and forums, has changed on mobile devices that the content and quantity of posts has went way downhill.

even with the fights we have had lately the number if posts are shockingly low. is it really the change in layout or is it just boxing is finally starting to dwindle in interest apert from the few hardcore posters

I've noticed that,i thought maybe people were on holidays and stuff like,but yeh i log on several times a day and there doesn't seem to be anything of interest lately.

I am quite proud of the fact I have avoided social media completely but sometimes I go on to the odd fighters Twitter page if there is a war of words on the go or just to find out any info. Some of the posts are embarrassing. The majority of people on here are very knowledgable and quite impartial so as you say, this is definitely the best place for news, opinion and debate. You still get the odd bellend though lol.

I use twitter for info (from promoters, boxers etc) but rarely actually 'discuss' on there (I do tweet my opinions out but have no real intention of discussing it with the idiots on there). I think its quite usual for information purposes especially if going to small hall shows etc and/or buying tickets off boxers.

This forum is fairly quiet (especially at the moment) but I personally don't mind it. Some of the busier forums you soon lose track with anything you've posted on and the busier the forum the more idiots seem to be on there.

I'll always post here, but also use Twitter, which can be OK if you use it sparingly. I rarely look at my timeline in-depth and tend to ignore it completely on fight nights as it becomes a Promoter Vs Promoter/Network Vs Network bun fight, usually when the fighters are in the ring and there's actually something worth talking about. I also use it to the ripp the piss out of pretty much anything that pops up.

Checkhookboxing's OK. A few posters make it unbearable so I dip in and out of that one. ESB's a dive, plus I've got a lifetime ban from that one so it's a moot point.

Try looking up the most inoffensive video you can think of & have a read of the comments - guaranteed it will have escalated into vile abuse within 10 responses. I was looking at a piano tutorial video for a piece of classical music the other day, and even the comments on that clip had eventually descended into bizarre aggressive ramblings & insults

As Terry said, I'm on twitter under my real name but use it more for work-related stuff - no interest at all in discussing boxing on there as a general rule and this is still my forum of choice. However, must confess that lately, while I've still been a daily visitor, I'm posting less than I ever have. I can't attribute that to a single factor such as the layout or the general level of usage, particularly as I'm a quality over quantity man and this place still has some excellent posters that I enjoy reading (including your fine selves of course ).
By the way Terry, I have to echo comments I've seen elsewhere and say that all those involved in BM are doing a sterling job - picked up a copy in June when I was back in the UK and it was a cracking read - true labour of love

100% agree - this is the most knowlegable forum on the net boxers pro and am, referees, officials, trainers + hardcore boxing fans etc etc ....some other forums i wouldnt even post wioth some of the shite you read "ronda rhousey would beat floyd in a boxing match"

A lot of good posters were either banned or left. We lost a few more with the demise of the news site. Some canny new people though. We need Lefty back again.
