The bulk of the population is on the east coast. I know 10 lads that would have went if it was in dublin but there was no way they would travel from cavan to limerick.

Ive seen FW getting stick that another of his "shows have fallen through" but to be honest, isn't this more a Booth / Lee event ?

If it's down to tickets not doing as well then that's a shame. But to be honest, a 35,000 seat venue is quite ambitious.

I just hope people can get their travel/hotel money back.

Co-promotion, some were suggesting Booth was the lead promoter, presumably so they could give him the credit if it went well, but now that the show has been cancelled there's no mention of Booth and all the blame has been put on Warren, when really it should be on both of them, they had half the undercard each and 5 weeks out neither had announced a thing, all came from the fighters or other sources, the only actual fight that had officially been put together was Josh Leather v Andy Colquhoun, which while it's a good fight wasn't really going to have a big effect on ticket sales and only got announced in Leather's local paper yesterday. There wasn't really much actual promotion done either, no posters up in Limerick or anywhere else from the sound of things, complete mess from the start, took them 2 weeks just to hold a press conference, that was less than 10 weeks before the fight was going to take place.

To expe... That's very strange then, they wouldn't need to spend much money on the undercard to get it over 20k (as you said get a few Irish lads on), surely Lee and BJS wont get as much money being on the Manc show? Or maybe Frank offered Lee a few quid more to get the fight in England.

Fwank's just done an interview with IFL, said that the last time he asked for a figure he was told about 4k from over here and with the Irish added in it came to 12.5-13k. Don't know when that was though, obviously the on

No idea what's going on, Lee always wanted the fight in Limerick, they tried the money route and he wasn't going for it, Warren wanted it in England and had to make do with Ireland when he couldn't get a stadium, Booth was co-promoting so he comes into it too, doubt he would want to lose money on the fight.

So four thousand fans from the UK have bought tickets to attend the show in Limerick and they've scrapped it, wow that is rotten for the fans, it's not like Limerick is a couple of hours drive. Fwank would be better off, when he announces his shows, saying 'this fight MIGHT happen'. That would be more accurate.

I was one. Will be just getting pissed in the pubs over there now I guess instead.

just like I said before would have sold out Dublin easy and English fight fans would be more up for going for the weekend.

The arenas too small in Dublin, no point going over there and selling 9,000 when they could do that in London without all the hassle of doing a show in Ireland.

I heard rumours of poor tickets sales as well

none of my friends were going,,

they all follow McGregor now and are saving for vegas for December 12th

McGregor will do a 80,000 stadium next year in Ireland as ufc is massive here now because of him

Rediculous - if (and it's a big if ) ticket sales have anything to do with this - why aren't the promoters selling the fight..... why didn't they ask the question (and do the research) such as "will it sell at this venue" before announcing the fight.

However, I wish BJS all the best and have a speedy recovery.

I don't know if I have seen one as blatant as this before - with the rumours of ticket sales issues so loud before the "injury".

what a gutter. i think the biggest shame is they are moving the fight from limerick to Manchester. But on the up side October is gonna have the fury v klitschko ,and lee v saunders. then roll November saul v cotto. all in 4 weeks

The blatant award for 2015 has to go to Eddie Hearn though, who told us Dillian Whyte had a hand injury which ruled him out of facing Joshua on 12th sept. That would be fair enough except Dillian fought earlier this month and also fights on 12th sept on the same show as Joshua.

Dillian Whyte himself said in an interview he didn't want that fight on that date due to the amount of notice and his trainers problems. It's all well and good fighting the opponent he is going to be fighting on the 12th, it's another fighting the biggest fight of his life and he made it clear he wanted the momentum going in, and it obviously works for Eddie because it gives a chance to build his profile on Sky.

Certainly the way he is tweeting its quite a big announcement. I have been keeping an eye on tickets, but also making sure the card holds together.
