Reading referee Jeff Hinds has been turned down yet again to be made up to star A class referee, absolutely no reasons given by The Board :shame:

That's a joke! Jeff might be the best British ref we've got, feel sorry for the man especially if they aren't giving any reasons

I've always had the impression it's a closed shop - effectively jobs for life, or until the ref retires because he cannot hack it any more.

Hinds is a cracking ref, certainly far better than poor old IJL, who seems to have gone to pot, yet is still apparently A Class, unless I've not heard about him being downgraded or suspended.

That's the problem with having the current star referees sit on the panel, they're not going to vote another referee in because it means less work for them. Half of them are completely incompetent.

Yeah, Turkeys voting for Christmas springs to mind.

Jeff Hinds is a good ref,you dont see enough of him these days unfortunately, there's a far worse ref than him at the moment who continues to make mistake after mistake and still get important fights

This is terrible.

I think people should recall one of the first fights Jeff did as an A referee, which was Mark Potter v Danny Watts. Jeff's stoppage was impeccable.

He has gone onto to make the same performances time and time again.

Perhaps some of those fine gentleman from the Board could come on here and do the one thing they seem to not want to do - give some reasons.

Whilst I am obviously a supporter of Jeff, I am referring to his ability based on meritocracy.
