Mundine vs Hatley and Buttigieg vs Colomban - Melb - Nov 11

Post by Redback Rasta »

Rumour doing the rounds is Sam Soliman to fight Sergey Khomitsky (30-11-3) in Melbourne on October 14th.

That would likely place it on the same card as Mundine's next fight - assuming he finds an opponent.

Quite possible it's in the works. Haven't heard form promoter Brian Amatruda re this show, since he requested Mundine insert in schedule.
I suspect it'll be at Hisense Arena & telecast by Main Event

Needless to say I told him if he doesn't put on PABA title....it'll be waste of time  and I'll ditch his photo in Bio

First thing I did when I heard the Soliman vs Khomitsky rumour was look up Khomitsky in BoxRec, and I noticed he was already listed to fight Jamie Cox on September 26th - that's why I inserted the ?? in the thread title.

I see Soliman vs Khomitsky as nothing more than a rumour until we hear something more substantial about it.

any rumour regarding sam is posiitve - he needs to get back in the ring asap and get a meaningful win and push for a rematch with Wade or something significant in Europe/USA.

167 posts and not one of them positive. I wonder if you will get to 200 before they ban you permanently?

Last I saw you post you were trying to get banned. Even said so. Why did you bother coming back?

that's a good question.

most normal people constantly discuss boxers they like or things they like about certain boxers. not constant anti-hate about all boxers.

its crazy to have such a level of hate against a complete stranger who has done nothing to them, lol.

He won't be posting for 30 days. When he returns & continues to do same (biting members with negative posts), he won't be posting full stop

Because I assume it would be on Mundines card(October 14 is supposedly when Mundine is fighting next)and all of Mundines fights are PPV no matter how good or bad they are.

Seems to be a deathly silence regarding this October 14 show. It is only about 7 weeks out now and not even a rumour of a Mundine opponent. Let alone what Soliman might be up to.

It seems like Khomitsky may be out as Cox's opponent, which could free him for a Soliman fight.

Perhaps this little rumour is firming then?

When you say it looks like Khomitsky is out of the Cox fight. What are you basing that on? That Boxrec no longer list it? Or have you heard it from somewhere else as well?

The September 26th card is still listed. But the main event that was to be Cox vs Khomitsky has been removed. The plot thickens.

I contacted UK editor when the fight was removed & if he knows the reason. It's middle of the night in UK, so it'll take time to get a reply.

I believe the poster 'Talkischeap' is Cox's trainer, and he claimed that Khomitsky is out and a new opponent is being searched for.

Mundine's manager Ben Thompson said on twitter yesterday: "We are getting very close to announcing Anthony Mundine's next opponent".

I suspect Sam Soliman vs Sergey Khomitsky might get announced shortly afterwards as the main support.

Re: Sam Soliman vs Sergey Khomitsky?? - Mundine undercard - Oct 14th

Post by AntonS »

Bout was removed several days ago following an e-mail to Boxrec from Khomitsky's manager Philippe Fondu, which said he had never agreed to box Cox and was actually looking at a potential bout against Sam

Whether it's a done deal remains to be seen? Probably is but waiting for Mundine to announce his opponent

There have been snippets in the media about the supposedly upcoming Cox vs Khomitsky fight for weeks and all the while it wasn't even agreed to

Let's hope if it is to be Soliman vs Khomitsky they at least come to an agreement before people start assuming the fight is fait accompli like they did Cox vs Khomitsky.

I will be surprized if it isn't Soliman vs Khomitsky after the early tip and then all the pieces falling together since.

As there is virtually no speculation going on in the media as to who Mundine's opponent will be I thought I would take things into my own hands.

Inspired by the age old method employed by the weather bureau, I put on a blindfold and threw a dart at the board, and it landed on the name Cedric Vitu.

If this prediction proves to be incorrect blame the weather bureau. I will be.

Nope! It's a 29 year-old 26-1-0 record against credible opponents. However that might change due to postponement. Apparently postponement is due to Main Event unable to cover it 'cos its conducting in-house conference around October 14 relating to its 2016 strategy, and November 11 is the only date available at Melb Convention & Exhibition

Sounding very much like a rematch against a very recent opponent.
