I will never know why he didn't campaign at light heavy as opposed to cruiser/dannyweight. Despite losing weight he still looked massive last night. Don't think Green could drop much more and therefore expecting Mundine to put on how much weight. If Green/Mundine 2 happens I will watch but hope they both spark each other out of existence simultaneously.

Mate they will be 2 40+ fighters it will be terrible. Read this fight was terrible at other forums and a few at this forum. Worse than the Drews ''fight''. As usual Green mentioning Mundines name...........again.

I do realise that Anton and fully agree it would be terrible. Not to mention the nauseating media lead up, the racism and the usual ignorance and hatred on social media. To be honest as it seems it is inevitable(somehow?!?!?!) I just wish it would happen simply to get it over and done with. That said once it happens (?) boxing will return to what it was post Fenech with people like Harding and Waters not getting much of a mention in the media.
I would still watch it (sucker for punishment) but think I would have to stream it. Going to the fight at a pub would be insanity inducing.
As for last night I enjoyed the undercard , not the main.

Yes Grant. The racism. Works both ways(of course more one way than the other but still goes both ways). Even after last night just look at social media. Staggering the degree of deeply entrenched racism and hatred that exists in this country. Not suggesting Green himself is just so many people. I remember being at a pub watching Mundine/Soliman 2. I go to fights on my own, just wanna watch quietly and have a beer and enjoy boxing. Never heard the word co*n so much in my life. Then some fools started on me because ,when asked, I gave an objective opinion and said I thought Mundine would win. You f'in co*on lover I was called. You f'in this etc...... Very sad.

You should come to some town's in the Riverina area of N.S.W our origin coach use to live at one particular town kids still get called black mother fu..ers by other player's during games of junior rugby league and i'v been to plenty of places for amateur boxing shows when we'v been called worst by drunken parent's GOD HELP THE KID'S..........................................Green should fight some-one his own size and please  Mundine needs you more than you need him if that's the case stop calling him out and fight a cruiserweight or even a heavyweight you might even gain some new fan's and even some credibility I would love to see Mundine start challenging featherweight's and lightweight's just to see if the media show
him the same stupid respect for challenging a man 15/20 kg's lighter Iike Green has been doing I bet Mundine would get run out of town.

Mundine beats Greeny at any weight. Has always been far to skillful to the plodding Green.

You gotta love the Australia media. A Cruiserweight(well almost)calls out a light middleweight all the time and nobody bats an eyelid.

JSA wrote:Thanks RR. I guess if you are a slow starter coming up against a young heavy handed lion is likely to end poorly.I read Meunier was a K1 fighter? Have to say was worried with his left hand so low. Guess he figured he could keep his opponent at bay but.........The punch that started the end for Meunier(geez he is a big man) was a peach as was the uppercut that finished it.
This Kickboxer magazine feature on Andre is a really good article. Tells how he got involved in the different sports and about some of his experiences >>>

Clive I tried to explain that to a casual(Green) fan last night. He was a nice bloke. Told him Mundine would have to come up significantly because its unlikely Danny would/could drop down much more. If he did and the fight did happen it would be a convenient excuse if Green loses.
I have been over the two of them for years and their ongoing circus. The media just sickens me as well.
But like I said before if it does happen I will watch...I just hope they put on a decent undercard.

Francis I know you loathe and disrespect most/all Aussie fighters seemingly obsessively but you are probably right. Just at this stage of their careers I would suggest that the reflex fighter is likely to feel the effects of age more compared to the puncher.

Great article RR. He seemed genuinely disappointed with the early KO. Must be difficult to flip flop between kickboxing/K1 and boxing.

As for a Mundine versus Green rematch, the twain shall never meet!

Mundine's last bouts were in the 152/153 pound range, whereas Green fought last night at 186 pounds. That's a 2 and a half stone difference.

The last time Mundine weighed in at 170 pounds was a decade ago, and based on his appearance last night, Green cannot drop too many more pounds.

Based on the current disparity between their avoirdupois, any such rematch belongs in Fantasyland!

It's common knowledge to those "in the know" that some very dodgy dealings have gone on behind closed doors where Grinning Greeny's career is concerned.

Really? Hope nothing untoward happens(bad judging). This guy is fighting 12lbs higher than what he's ever fought before that's probably why Green looks more ripped than Roberto.
GO ROBERTO!!!!!!!!!!! :box:

Danny Green had everything to lose and nothing really to gain the other night.

The boxes that needed ticking were getting the win, shaking off some ring rust and logging some rounds. Ticks in all boxes. Now who is next?

I was pleased that when the Moloney lad got dropped via a nice counter he did adjust his game. He got a bit careless ,paid for it but to be able to adjust appropriately at such an early stage in his career I thought was very good. The pair seem to have a good team. I look forward to watching them both in the future.

Won't need a wild guess. It will be another Bolonti at a catchweight that suits Greeny.

I think you can bank on it being another import because they tend to sell seats and PPV better.

I wasn't planning on watching , but curiosity got the better off me. Decent undercard. The main ever was pretty slow I thought. Though I didn't expect Danny to come out swinging, he is old and inactive after all. His opponent was pretty horrible I gotta say. Basically just stood in front of green at times.

Can't see a Mundine rematch happening. Though I agree with JSA, I think Mundine has been the better fighter, he's reflexes are pretty shot, and green can still bang.
I really couldn't care less if they do or don't fight

Mundine say's Green needs to lose some weight and beat Caparello or Bika first before he would consider fighting him again.

Amusing stuff

Mundine and Green will be baiting each other for as long as they are both wearing gloves. But neither will have any say in who the other fights, unless it is each other.

They will either agree to fight each other at some stage, or they won't, and everything said in between is best taken as entertainment for the peanut gallery
