I would not travel to my back garden to watch a MBC show; in fact I would pull the curtains.

The venue holds about 4500, isnt really a bad view in there but the bar/toilet situation was pretty bad when I watched Pricey box there, im looking forward to this purely the chance to see RJJ is whats swayed me seen him at the press conferance in the Bier Kellar and got a picture and an autograph of him ha ha!

It's not about the money; it is all about getting that MBC title :TU:

I suppose his name still sells tickets over here, people wanting to see a living legend etc.

Ray Robinson did much the same in the twilight of his career in the UK and Europe.

If Jones is on world title money then Vaughan must be losing money with minimal TV income and no more than 4-4.5k tickets sold :yay:

He should have a big chunk of money behind him and be able to do other things now, it'll be a shame if he gets badly hurt.

Good on him, and if he's getting a few brasses in with the deals, it sounds like a great life to be leading :TU: :salut:

Whatever sanctioning body is doing it, Ankrah v Economides is a cracking fight, and to be fair, not one Paul will go in as favourite for.

Sponsors have covered the entirety of RJJ's purse... Vaughan will certainly be making a decent amount from this show

Even at 20 quid a ticket it's close to 100k coming in, even if he gave RJJ half, and paid the rest of the bills on the show it would still be a good nights work for Vaughan

How the fornicate has he got sponsors to pay £50k+ for a fight that's being shown a week late on an unknown TV channel with an average crowd? World title fights don't usually get that much in sponsorship.

Good question on how' he's got it. Must be a big company that's done it off as an expense

I'd be fuming if I'd paid for RJJ'S purse and not even got my name on the posters.

Looking on the promoters website, tickets are priced at £40, £60, £100 and £150

There is also a Q&A event lined up with tickets at £30

If Jones is happy to do meet and greets and photo opportunities etc. I am sure there will be plenty of sponsors available, there is also mention of t-shirts on the website so there are quite a few different revenue streams.

Boxers will be queuing up to fight on this bill and will be keen to sell as many tickets as they can to ensure their participation.

I have no idea what purse/expenses Jones will be on but the promoter isn't a divvy and I am sure he has done the sums and will be seeing a profit.

There's is lots of negative speculation on this thread about MBC shows and also Roy Jones Jr. We should all judge after the show has been on and when Roy Jones has stopped Moran. I bet anyone the show is better than your bbbc normal show that's run most months. Journey man v up and coming prospect (in some cases for the second time). 40/36 scores. Thats from my personal experiences of having bbbc licence for 7yrs. I think the Liverpool show will be well organised and run with decent fights. For the paying casual fan they wont know any difference if its a bbbc or Malteese / German / Latvian run show.

As much as I'd love to see any version of a legend and former p4p no1 like RJJ in the ring in the flesh
This genuine boxing fan will be home that night watching the current p4p no1 in probably a similarly uneven mismatch, with Groves fighting for a world title on the under card as well as AJ vs Cornish, Whyte vs Guinn; martinez vs solido, Bundrage vs Charlo, Peter Quillin etc
