Best staredown in the ring
Best staredown in the ring
Mike Tyson v Peter McNeeley is a pretty good one to start with....any others?
Re: Best staredown in the ring
Aaron Pryor / Dujuan Johnson
Tyson/McNeeley
Hearns/Benitez
Hearns vs just about anyone really.
Katsidis had a weird one vs Guerrero I think.

I've always been partial to the frightening, bug-eyed look Bonecrusher Smith gave his opponents.
Re: Best staredown in the ring
Bob Sapp had a few good ones
Re: Best staredown in the ring
Not a ring stare-down...but Calzaghe having the nuts to smirk right at Hopkins, hold the stare for as long as you like and do a few moves was excellent. Loved the build-up to that fight.

Re: Best staredown in the ring
..joe louis didn't do actual staredowns...but that impassive deadpan face scared the hell out of his opponents . he kept it during the fights themselves a lotos times...and a lot of times his opponents wished they hand't gone to night school and study accounting.
Re: Best staredown in the ring
Lloyd Honeyghan vs just about anyone, especially Johnny Bumphus. Mark Breland was a good one too. The staredown seems to have gone out of fashion
Re: Best staredown in the ring
Mark Kaylor was good at the evil eye.
Chavez v Rosario.

Re: Best staredown in the ring
Duran - Dejesus 2, not a staredown per se but Duran pointing across the ring in a manner intended to indicate 'you're fvckin getting it mate' was ace, well it wasn't a point, it was kind of like a tomahawk-chop gesture. i mean you can't 'point' with boxing gloves on, can you? anyway youse know what I mean.
Re: Best staredown in the ring
I always liked Julian Jackson's "point" after felling a foe.

@Noxy.....agreed, The Raggamuffin Man delivered some real intensity.Lloyd Honeyghan vs just about anyone, especially Johnny Bumphus. Mark Breland was a good one too. The staredown seems to have gone out of fashion
He got right in Blocker's face as well.

Re: Best staredown in the ring
Holyfield -v- Tyson 2.
Holyfield looked as fierce as I'd ever seen him & Tyson looked like a petrified school boy who couldn't or didn't want to make eye contact.
It was so surreal, especially coming so soon after Tyson -v- McNeeley, when Tyson looked so menacing.
I supposed that's the difference between sensing danger & not sensing danger!

I was definitely going with Benetiz vs Hearns. It went on forever! I did like Bonecrusher vs Holmes.
