Peter Buckley was a good pure boxer, particularly when he was going for the win.

Yes, he absolutely mastered the art of the "punch bag style"palooka wrote:Peter Buckley was a good pure boxer, particularly when he was going for the win.

He was very rarely caught flush and even !more rarely hurt, Buckley had a fantastic defense and knew what an opponent was going to do next. He had an awful win/loss ratio but he could box alright.Rexob wrote:Yes, he absolutely mastered the art of the "punch bag style"palooka wrote:Peter Buckley was a good pure boxer, particularly when he was going for the win.

Re: Pure boxers.
Thank you and I'd forgotten to include Paulie Mallignagi on the list. For a light hitting boxer to fight at the top level, get some good wins and cause problems for fantastic fighters shows what an excellent boxer Paulie was.littlepug wrote:Good call on McMillan he really was a joy to watchpalooka wrote:Peter Richardson

Re: Pure boxers.
By pure boxer, I mean a fighter who has great technical skills, and wins decisions.

I always enjoy watching Yuki Nonaka, a boxer style. Cuenca? Miguel Vazquez?
