Nope! He's been quite active since he threw his first pro punch, so he might not be prepared to sit on his arse 'til Nov 11ClivePatrickLyons wrote:that would be MexicoAntonS wrote:Nah! The guy has never fought him nor outside his country

Closest fit I can think off is Charles Hatley. But he is 25-1-1.AntonS wrote:Nah! The guy has never fought him nor outside his country

Nah, that ain't either. As you can appreciate this being classed major event, I gotta keep my trap shut & let media conference take its course....such is the agreement between promoters & I

Contracts now signed according to Brian Armatruda on twitter. Claims it is a real fight. Not a soft fight. But the promoter would have to say that even if it wasn't wouldn't he.AntonS wrote:Nah, that ain't either. Billy Dib vs Jack Asis firming.
Reckon Renold Quinlan might find his way on the undercard too.
Not sure where that leaves the notional Soliman vs Khomitsky matchup?
If the card includes Billy Dib vs Jack Asis and Soliman vs Khomitsky I'm impressed

Wow 2 good Mundine undercards in a row if true. Wonders will never cease.Redback Rasta wrote:Billy Dib vs Jack Asis firming.

The last Mundine card was listed as a Brian Armatruda Big Time Boxing promotion. This one is listed as a joint BOXA / Armatruda show.
The introduction of Armatruda seems to have made the difference.

So the card is starting to take some shape >>>
Anthony Mundine vs Charles Hatley 25-1-1 for Mundine's silver WBC belt.
Billy Dib vs Jack Asis ??
Sam Soliman vs Sergey Khomitsky ??
Perhaps Renold Quinlan ??

Seems an odd choice of opponent. Charles Hatley is rated 19 WBC and nowhere by any other organisation from what I can see.

WBA #15 It's Mundine's silver title defence, which is WBC's former Interim world tile.....which in reality = having bitters, lime & lemonade when not having a grogLike a Boss wrote:Seems an odd choice of opponent. I missed Hatley in the WBA ratings. He is probably #15 there on the strength of winning the WBA-NBA title last fight I am guessing?AntonS wrote:WBA #15 It's Mundine's silver title defence, which is WBC's former Interim world tile.....which in reality = SFA titleLike a Boss wrote:Seems an odd choice of opponent. Re: Nov 11th - Mundine vs Charles Hatley and Sam Soliman vs Sergey Khomitsky??
Mundine had to defend WBC Silver or he'd lose it. Doubt he'll be elevated from #4 beating Hatley, but at least he'll remain around that rating.

It will be one day short of 12 months since Anthony Mundine has fought when he sets foot in the ring against Charles Hatley. Whoever Charles Hatley is?
Along the way Mundine could have but didn't fight the far more highly regarded Austin Trout or Demetrius Andrade for his WBO title.
Mundine wins this and so what. He loses and his international career is surely cooked. Up in smoke like the year he just wasted.

Taking a bit of finalizing that one. I first heard the rumour 2 weeks ago and no doubt they had been talking about it before then. Meanwhile Cox's people thought Khomitsky was committed to them.AntonS wrote:Still negotiatingRedback Rasta wrote:So the card is starting to take some shape >>>

If Amatruda can land Soliman vs Khomitsky as well it makes for a good card.

Anthony Mundine Faces Charles Hatley on November 11
Anthony Mundine (47-6, 27KOs) has announced that he will defend his WBC silver junior middleweight title against Charles Hatley (25-1-1, 17KOs) in Melbourne on November 11.
Mundine has not fought since upsetting previously unbeaten Sergey Rabchenko last November. Hatley has won 8 in a row since getting stunned in the first round by Lanardo Tyner in August of 2012.
Mundine was initially set to face Austin Trout on a May date in Texas. The fight fell apart after Mundine withdrew with an ear infection. The fight was never rescheduled as Mundine was unhappy with the financial terms.
Then there were some discussions of a fight with then WBO champion Demetrius Andrade, but the fight also never came together because the two sides were unable to reach an understanding on the terms.
Hatley is ranked at number 15 by the World Boxing Association.
