And do you really think we'd leave without the cash? I'll get it before the fight, then he can knock him out, we can go home, everybody is happy.

There's a journeyman Bobby Gunn here in the United States claiming he is going to make Bare Knuckle Boxing bigger than the UFC
Re: Bare Knuckle
This is the guy knocked out by Enzo Maccarinelli, right?GilFilmore wrote:There's a journeyman Bobby Gunn here in the United States claiming he is going to make Bare Knuckle Boxing bigger than the UFC

My pal isn't a mug, he had 70 am bouts and only lost on a split to Khan! Prison ruined his pro application, though...
Are you talking about him doing boxing or attending some kind of bizarre, twisted, Geordie, wank-a-thon?
Good luck with that, I've been waiting for years for mine.
Its all about who you know in that game

It is Quinn, he rang my pal yesterday.Tomasino wrote:mickey1975 wrote:They won't know him, he did most as a junior. He's been in prison a long time. You do go in blind, I've watched unlicensed, and most are terrible, but you do get the odd one who can really fight. The fights last about 30 seconds. Quinn does Traveller rules, Courtney is a div.
I know Courtney's a div, Quinns set up now is rounds and a ring though. He wasn't fighting just organising. Just in case it was samme mob running it. Reckon your pals making some easy money though so that can't be a bad thing.

Mickey posted elsewhere that the fight was stopped when his friend suffered a nasty cut.

Go on James Donk Davies FB, it's an open profile, and you'll see it, I don't know how to do it.

Re: Bare Knuckle
The BKB event (I think) you are referring to is under either Quinn Promotions or BBAD Promotions.
They have a good mix of semi-pros, ex-amateurs, ex-pros and hard cases. I think they have (collectively) had maybe two dozen events so far since late 2013. I havent followed it in quite a while, but the people who attend the events are cordial and nice enough. It's not some crazed, rabid event.
Europe is really leading the way in the resurgance of BKB style contests, and America is too over-regulated to make it happen in any real capacity unless its illegal and the poster boys for the sport in the States... well, more or less talk rather than fight (its a gimmick).

Re: Bare Knuckle
Saw a mad double knockdown in one, ex pro Nathan Joseph against a guy who looked like he'd been dragged out of the pub... He might have been, but it must have been a rough pub. It's on YouTube "Nate Jdogg boxing".
