I think he looks OK, if Anthony is using him as a stay busy fight for something bigger he has a good choice. If there is nothing down the track for him then it's a waste of time. I will go to have a look myself.ClivePatrickLyons wrote:WHO IS HE :?? :?? :?? :??
But you must agree Clive the man really has to KO this guy.

Re: Mundine V Hatley
Why a points win will do the trick ,Mundine wins mostly that way even though it will be a big step up in grade for the Yank after looking at his record and amateur back ground and the fact that he's in his prime or there abouts its a danger fight for Mundine against some-one that isn't really know outside his home town and his ranked a fair way below Mundine it might be tune up for something bigger at this weight I hope and if Mundine shows up in the same form as his last fight he should win and if he ups the ante in the volume of punch's he throws he might just get the KO GrantGrant wrote:I think he looks OK, if Anthony is using him as a stay busy fight for something bigger he has a good choice. Re: Mundine V Hatley
Hard to see this as a tune-up fight when Mundine took12 months to settle on an opponent.
He could have fought Austin Trout or Demetrius Andrade for his WBO title. But instead comes up with somebody even boxing fans like ourselves have never even heard of.
There are probably 30 or 40 better 154 pounders around than Charles Hatley and they didn't all say no to Mundine, because they were asked.
Erislandy Lara has said he is keen to come and fight in Australia but said he hasn't been asked. Lara is not only a name. He has titles to his name too. Pity they didn't give him a call instead of this Charles what ever his name is.

This guy had something like 280 amateur fights in America. Was an alternate for an Olympic team. He can obviously fight. I think it's a good match up and could be a tough one.
Re: Mundine V Hatley
250 amateur wins with 12 losses. Amateur form does not always mean success as a pro but 250 - 12 is very impressive.fox wrote:This guy had something like 280 amateur fights in America. I remember people drooling over KT's amateur record which was 259 wins and 11 losses.

Re: Mundine V Hatley
The early optimism that Mundine vs Hatley might be supported by a world class undercard seems to have been misplaced.
There are 10 fights listed now and hard to get too excited by what's on offer:
Mundine v Hatley
Buttigieg v Colomban
Hunt v Askew
Watts v TBA
Meehan v TBA
Hepi v TBA
Goddard v TBA
Vitale v TBA
Tuck v Miller
I have a feeling the Tuck listed for a debut 4 rounder is former Richmond AFL footballer, Shane Tuck.

Gee this undercard is awful. Get Mick Gatto onboard again the Rabchenko undercard was great by Australian(and especially Mundine/BOXA)standards. Back to rubbish won't be getting this one.Like a Boss wrote:The early optimism that Mundine vs Hatley might be supported by a world class undercard seems to have been misplaced.

I think Mick is mostly likely in the mix, and most prominent at that that. Doubt Mundine has coin to put on a show, albeit media drum..he's earned millions out of boxingDA GOOSE wrote:Gee this undercard is awful. Shane Tuck has sparred a lot of rounds with Sam Soliman according to Brian Amatruda, and "is the real thing and not just in their to make up the numbers."AntonS wrote:Yup! Correct. Two other former AFL footballers showing interest in following Tuck into the pro boxing ranks are his former Richmond teammate Josh "the pushup"" King and Irishman Setanta O'Hailpin.

Anthony Mundine in an interview yesterday when asked about fighting Danny Green again:
"Money talks. I'd do it for the right price, the right deal."

Re: Mundine V Hatley
Mundine didn't restrict his talk of a Green rematch to the one media outlet either:
ANTHONY Mundine did the rounds on breakfast radio this morning to promote his upcoming fight against Charles Hatley next month. But that’s not the fight anyone really wants to talk about. At this stage of Mundine’s career there’s only one opponent most casual fans in Australia would tune in to see him fight: Danny Green.
Mundine appears happy to entertain the prospect as his career begins to wind down. But he told Triple M’s Hot Breakfast there is a list of demands that would have to be met before he’d fight Green — including one doozy.
“There will be three stipulations if we have that fight,” Mundine said.
“The weight would be one, drug testing would be another one. And when I do beat him again, I want Malcolm Turnbull to recognise my people on the flag and recognise my people on the anthem and then we got a fight.”
There you go. Australia’s new Prime Minister holds the keys to the rematch. Hot Breakfast host Eddie McGuire scoffed at the final demand, joking:
“I reckon Danny can sign up for two of those.”

Don't discount the possibility of Mundine vs Green II. Mundine isn't, and we know Green is keen.

Just the usual from Mundine
But he is clearly hyping more than one fight now.
