Hi Damian
Welcome to this forum. Wish you worked Hobart gig last Saturday. At times timekeeper went overtime......twice by as much 10 seconds. Lucky there wasn't title fight in the mix, where there was knockout in overtime  I rarely time rounds, but did so to confirm two 4 rounders were 3 minutes & not 2
Cheers

He's one of the best timekeepers in OZ. I think he still uses modified old Melbourne tram's Ding Ding, which I prefer to Church bells & Buzzers

Why wasn't Peter Jackson a charter member of the Australian National Boxing Hall of Fame?

Have Llew Edwards, Fritz Holland and Harry Stone been inducted into the Australian National Boxing Hall of Fame? If not, why haven't they been? Was it because all three were foreign-born? Besides being very prominent in the Australian boxing scene starting in the 1910s, all three were Australian titleholders and had many bouts in Australia. While fighting in Australia, Edwards compiled an absolutely tremendous record while Holland and Stone compiled credible ones.

It appears that American-born Holland never went back to the United States, his native country, after going to Australia to fight during the 1910s. According to one contemporary item in an Australian newspaper, Holland passed away in New Zealand during 1952. It was widely-reported in Australian newspapers when American-born Stone died while living in the Sydney area during 1950. I do not know where the UK-born Edwards passed away.
