As much as I'd love to see any version of a legend and former p4p no1 like RJJ in the ring in the flesh
This genuine boxing fan will be home that night watching the current p4p no1 in probably a similarly uneven mismatch, with Groves fighting for a world title on the under card as well as AJ vs Cornish, Whyte vs Guinn; martinez vs solido, Bundrage vs Charlo, Peter Quillin etc
Another one here. Even if there was no fights on telly and I was offered a free ticket I wouldn't go. No interest in watching a old, washed up drug cheat beat up an opponent nearly as old as he is who lost at area title level when he was in his prime.

In the big scheme of things it's not a big deal that Jones is still fighting but from a boxing fan's point of view it's pretty sad. I wouldn't even watch him on YouTube now.

Your points of view taken Guys, but still like I said no different to any BBBC show up and down the country Prospect v Journeyman stacked with a card full of 40/36 right down the bill. Each to your own. Good point on Mayweather fight I be watching after Roy Jones as I am an original Genuine fan.

Does roy Jones select the opponent or is it the Promotor ? I would t have expected an world beaterr but surely Tony dilks or someone of that ability would be more competitive.

What some big promoters do is replace the main event with another 'title' fight, so they don't have to give refunds!

Whole show now moved to The Olympia, it will still feature Tony Moran, but will now be topped by Paul Economides’ WBF Inter-Continental super bantamweight title clash against Prosper Ankrah and flanked by Tasif Khan’s first title challenge as he battles Isaac Quaye for the vacant WBF International super flyweight title.

That picture of Jones must at least 15 years old, because he looks nothing like that now!

I wouldn't have minded going to see him, even though he is now as old as space & probably not even 35% of what he once was.

Must be those passport issues that plagued him throughout the 1990s & early 00s when he could actually still fight! :OhYes:

Hmm. Suspect the money wasn't stacking up - maybe ticket sales were poor.

We can argue forever about the various wrongs & rights about Jones fighting on, but if he does wish to carry on fighting I hope he doesn't continue to show the same level of disrespect as he has here. Pulling out of a fight by just not bothering to turn up to the airport is very poor form for any professional. Moran must be absolutely gutted, and lots of people have spent good time & money arranging all this.

I just hope Jones doesn't get the Lebedev fight - partly because of behaviour here, and partly because he obviously risks serious & permanent injuries against a puncher who's already brutally stopped him before.
