James DeGale - first defence

Post by ALI »

Its been a while since he won the IBF from Dirrell, nearly 4 months now. Anyone know whats happening with him, when can we expect an oponent to be named for his first defence?

Any news on who he might fight in his first defence?

Has he signed with Haymon? If so, is Eddie maybe washing his hands?

There were rumours of Bute a couple weeks ago, but heard nothing since.
Maybe they are waiting to see if Groves wins.

Should have made a quick first defence to capitalise on all the publicity now he is lost again back in the shuffle

I agree about a quick defence, well certainly quicker than he is lining up but not about being lost. While Ward is not fighting at 168 you have to consider James as the divisions number one guy

Wonder if he may have to rematch dirrell given the money at stake on first fight might be a requirement. Id like to see it again it was a good fight

I agree about this. Degale has been able to kill the buzz surrounding his career a few times
