There's plenty of free boxing on TV these days, and as usual, many of you are squawking because it's not major PPV quality or even a trumpeted HBO-like match up.

Just be grateful we're seeing so many current outstanding boxers on a regular basis, whether or not the bouts are fully competitive.

When you're paying $100 to see a quality fight and don't get it (see Mayweather-Pacquiao) then you can complain. But until then remember---these PBC fights don't cost you anything so beggars can't be choosers.

fornicate people with THAT logic. I'd rather see a well matched bout between two C tier guys than a 90-10 type bout. The co-feature on this particular show (Luna Vs Roas) was ACTUALLY a really good match up between two guys who were well matched (despite what the records said), likewise bouts like Higa Vs Kongfah (where two prospects faced off) or Zoda Vs Petchchorhae were brilliant.

We don't ask for "PPV quality" bouts on free TV, just competitive match ups.

I'd rather watch stuff like Dave Ryan Vs John Wayne Hibbert, Rex Tso Vs Michael Enriquez or Jorge Cota Vs Yudel Johnson than any of these PBC headline bouts.

When PBC gets it right (Glowacki Vs Hick, McDonnell Vs Kameda, Santa Cruz Vs Mares) they get it really right, but it seems to be a case of throw enough shit at the wall and some of it will stick as opposed to any coherent thinking about the match ups.

Old man pino for example constantly ridicules Europeans for being "risk adverse" but is happy to watch Garcia-Paulie and Wilder vs Duhaupas and the rest of this shite lined up, you cant have it both ways.

I'd rather pay for quality then settle for this rubbish, I don't get any enjoyment out of watching mismatches.

...any idea if the guy who battered Mundine not too long ago was available? Trout Vs Clottey would actually be intriguing, sure it could be a VERY dull fight but intriguing all the same. There was no reason why someone better than Hernandez wasn't available given the timing of Mundine's pull out. Maciel for example would have been a very interesting (and good fight).

in the 80's pro boxing was on network tv all the time, but after mancini-kim and other incidents, as well as
some famous bad decisions, the networks shied away from boxing for a long time. i don't remember this much
boxing being on broadcast networks and basic cable for a really long time. with the ability to stream channels
from around the world, it is actually a great time to watch boxing. maybe not every main event is great, but
some of these undercards have good scraps.

Whilst others having nothing but show case bouts. Take yesterday for example. I tuned into cards in 4 different countries-China, Thailand, USA and Canada. The perceived favourites (Thong, Hanuman, Yodsingdaeng, Jun, Spence, Stevenson, Hart and Valdez) won every one of those bouts, mostly without struggling. In fact between them they might have lost a combined 12 rounds (at a push).

It's great there are so many fights, it's just a shame so few are competitive.

Many of PBC fights are of the "stay busy" variety.

As long as fighter takes one challenging fight per year, I'm good with them.
2+ challenging fights per year is what legends are made of.

I laugh at all the whiners and complainers here on their rag about the match ups that Haymon is putting on, you call yourselves "boxing fans" but yet you are whining about seeing boxing matches for free.

From my viewing perspective if a fight doesn't interest me (e.g. Quillin vs an undersized male stripper who in his only bout with a credible opponent lost virtually every round) I couldn't care less whether it's free (and of course many PBC fights aren't actually free), as I'm probably not going to watch it anyway.

The whole 'don't complain because it's free' logic is nonsensical. By that logic you shouldn't complain about a 'free' fight between an undisputed world champ and an 0-27 clubfighter from two divisions below that is made at the expense of a much better contest.

quillin's ring weight is 182. aside from lunging hooks, he looks slow and isn't landing a lot.
he's also been caught a few times as well by z, who looks like a solid boxer. marcus browne
with the viscious body attack in the previous fight.

oh well, z decided to trade on the inside. he looked ok until that point, then both looked really
clumsy trying to land haymakers, but z looked especially especially reckless reaching with his
chin out and got nailed.

Quillin apparently was a 180 pounds fighting a former 154 pound (who was 160) journeyman. Almost killed him on public TV. Is this fight suppose to make me believe that Quillin is "star" or was it the fact he vacated his WBO title because he didn't want to fight Matt Korobov? LOL

punches and z got caught reaching badly. the precautions they took were because of
the last punch he took, which was a full wind up overhand from q. he was talking to the
doctor and ref the whole time and it seemed like they were playing it safe, which is not
a bad thing. it should be illegal, even criminal, to have that much of a weight gain from
weigh-in to fight night, especially when the other fighter gained next to nothing and the
bigger fighter has fought at a championship level.

Now the mask has slipped a bit, it's nice to see all the credulous/gullible/weirdos with agendas (delete as appropriate) try to continue to s̶h̶i̶l̶l̶ defend the PBC concept when it's obviously boxing as it has been for years when a promoter gets a monopoly (favoured fighters in mostly ridiculously unequal matchups & marquee names occasionally fighting each other that in fact turn out to be calculated low-risk affairs because they've both been matched so carefully it's disguised how much one has slipped), just with a stupid PR facelift & a load of fawning cretins mewling about "New dawn for boxing".
