It's out of the system very quickly though and can help with weight loss. It's highly unlikely it was recreational that close to the fight, if it was I'd suggest he has some sort of addiction.quigley1986 wrote:The reason I was enquiring as to the effects/ benefits of taking speed was to decide whether Kenny was using the drug as a performance enhancer or recreational.
I think there is something a bit off here as I think in this modern age there would be something more effective than speed!!

However I must admit to being ignorant here but what is the benifit of speed to a boxer? Is there any recognised enhancements brought on by speed?
Thanks

I think some versions of steroids contain amphetamine, I only know that as I saw it on "nothing to declare' about Australia's customs team. 95% of the programme is Asian people trying to smuggle turtles or some other wierd stuff to eat or use as medicine.

read a good article on Kenny Anderson sometime this year. It will have been BM or BN. It basically said what a competent operator he was that had maybe had a bit of bad luck and whose profile should be higher. Good amateur.
I think they should either give him a lifetime ban or some other kind of punishment. I'm a little dubious about this type of a ban. He could come back not as good but still get fights on his "name" , or, a bit like Ali, box on too long because he's had a couple years taken off him. That said...don't take drugs, simple....but I don't like this notion of "2 years out" in a fighting sport

he passed all his amature drug tests and all his pro tests including king and groves fight ect, so what if hes telling truth about the reid fight you think he shouldnt be allowed to box again even if it wasnt done to his knowlede,, its different situation from larry who knowingly cheated for every single fight with peds .
Re: Kenny Anderson banned for 2 years after failing drug test
Is Anderson planning to come back? Correct me if I am wrong, but I think his ban would have ended last November.
Re: Kenny Anderson banned for 2 years after failing drug test
Any cheat should never be allowed there license back
Re: Kenny Anderson banned for 2 years after failing drug test
I was thinking about his fight with Groves earlier and how he had Groves on jelly legs, much like last night, before George pulled out the stoppage, and was actually considering starting a "where's Kenny Anderson?" Thread, so it's funny to see this old thread get bumped.
Good come back fight for George, anyone? Nice little domestic rivalry, sellable as a grudge match? Bit of a come down after challenging for world titles but...
Would you be interested?

I agree - it is one thing for those in athletics etc. but for people involved in fighting sports or collision sports like rugby there should be no way back.AGM wrote:Any cheat should never be allowed there license back

Not true. A 1/4 of a gram of really good stuff will get you high. Don't forget were only talking about enough to enhance energy levels here not get you off yer bollox.G0mez wrote:You need at least half a gram to a gram of whizz/speed to have a reasonable effect.
No way you slip that amount into a coffee unoticed !
Amphetamine is definitely a performance enhancing drug, as it increases energy levels and alertness dramatically. It was rife amongst tour de France cyclists in the early part of the 20th century.

I can't see how it could help. The negatives far outweigh the positives. It would explain why he's so moody though. The worst drug I've ever had. And James is right, just a dab of paste and youre off it.
Re: Kenny Anderson banned for 2 years after failing drug test
I never found speed to be an off your face kind of drug, I found it just kept me awake for three days feeling like I needed to piss and when I eventually did it was like brown sludge. Can't see how that would help a boxer.
Re: Kenny Anderson banned for 2 years after failing drug test
I agree. That and ketamine are the worst things I took when I was younger! Horrid! The comedown after speed or base was awful plus it shrank my cock n balls and that's never goodSNG wrote:I never found speed to be an off your face kind of drug, I found it just kept me awake for three days feeling like I needed to piss and when I eventually did it was like brown sludge. Not an off your head, E style, pulling faces, etc.. But hoovering in the middle of the night and walking to an all night garage at 4 am three miles away isn't normal.
Re: Kenny Anderson banned for 2 years after failing drug test
Add what the three of us said and that's the definition of the speed experience, can't piss through a tiny cock in an alley on the way to buy new Hoover bags at 4.34am.mickey1975 wrote:Not an off your head, E style, pulling faces, etc..
