audley Harrisson/David Price

Post by TopGun »

It's funny when you look back as David dismantled Audley and then said 'lets give him credit etc, he is not in my league but still achieved a lot blah blah', actualy Audley achieved a lot more than David, gold medal, european belt and world title shot. David bronze medal, failed shot at European title.

Don't get me wrong I thought David was the HW saviour, it's a funny old sport!

Fair point. I was also one of the folk getting over excited about Price lol. That's why I am a bit more cautious over AJ although he has looked the business so far.

Ha ha, this is very true, although Audley had a much easier fight for the European than Price did.

I think it is great proof about how a promoters handling of a fighter can be the difference between success and mediocrity. Whether you like him or loathe him, Audley Harrison did enough in his career to earn a World title shot. David Price will never get close to it.

I really thought Price was going to be Champion Of The World one day....

His comments; "Not in my league" etc.... Seemed gentlemanly at the time. Seem a bit arrogant now, lol.

Thing is after the Thompson defeats I know Price went away to Germany to fight to regain some confidence but he didn't really ever seem to develop his obvious flaws, still would love to see him try it again with a different coach and actually use the obvious physical advantages and massive power he has.

Just don't think we will ever get to see this which is disappointing!

I never got into the Price thing, we saw from his amateur days he was chinny, it was just a matter of time before he got sparked out!

That was what I thought. But he could bang and so I expected a few bigger wins
