groves v abraham ?

Post by littlepug »

Would any one watch this ? would think Abraham would take this fight now groves seems a bit shopworn , think it would be a good fight and might favour king Arthur if it came off which seems possible with Kalle involved, thoughts ?

Groves can't just walk into another title shot, he needs to be coming off a win at least.
Groves Vs. Stielglitz in Germany or the UK.
Both men coming off losses, winner gets AA.

I actually like the thought of Groves facing the loser of Chudinov Vs. Buglioni (probably Buglioni, in London on a Bn card) and then moving onto the winner for the WBA Title...

Abraham seemed well done a few years back, but he seems to have found his second wind. I'd take him against Groves. He's not the best around his weight, but he's a legit top player again.

Buglioni is gonna get absolutely pollaxed by Fedor. Buglioni STINKS. How the hell is that guy fighting for a world title?

No idea. But Buglioni makes sense as a tune up for Groves once he loses to Chudinov.
This would allow Groves a shot at Chudinov and FW & BN can get to show both fights...

A shot at Fedor with George's glass chin ? Not a good idea.

Groves beats Buglioni but Chudinov ko's Groves. Really believe that Groves desperately needs Adam Booth back in his corner.

Don't think Groves should get a title shot after losing to Jack.

Groves vs. Callum Smith would make a lot more sense. Could be a decent-sized fight in the UK, and has the subplot of Groves having KO'd Smith's older brother.

If Groves went back to Booth I think he could beat AA. Him pre Froch with Booth would have won easy IMO.

Abraham is one of those guys that doesn't always look amazing but knows how to grind out a win. Groves doesn't seem to be able to do that. A year ago I would have backed Groves but now I think Abraham would beat him on points or stop him late.

it is actually quite amazing. i for one think
abraham was pretty much always the same,
but he was outclassed by a few that were
just slicker than him and could manage his
very straight forward power.

i always like him before he entered the big
stage. still remember his bravery against
miranda. it was weird to see him so helpless
at top level. i think it has to do with where he
learned the game. his trainer uli wegner did
not have a reputation for building fighters
who can ... box.

Another potential Abraham vs Steiglitz bout for the heralded WBO super middleweight crown, just what boxing needs

Agree with some of the earlier points GG must try and reconcile with Booth that combo work really well!
Something has certainly been missing since they split!

...not quite sure why so many fans are sold on Groves...pretty average opposition, once he stepped up he stared to lose, what.. 3 times now? obviously a suspect chin, all the time running his mouth showing total disrespect to his fellow boxers...and a sore loser to boot..

Groves deserves a shot at AA mire than Smith did.

Groves vs Buglioni is a complete mismatch, where as I'd favour Groves to outpoint King Artur in a close-ish fight.

AA doesn't work enough he works 30 seconds a round and when Jack was doing that against Groves Groves would steal the round, Groves wouldn't have his usual stamina problem against AA so I'd pick Groves pts, especially as you can see AA power punches coming a mile away and Groves does have good movement.
