Billy Backus vs Jose Napoles was a big one, no-one got nowhere near Napoles at welterweight when he was dethroned by Backus...

Tyson vs Douglas for sure was another one as was Turpin vs Robinson but they are the more obvious ones.

it was, the younger ones don't realise how ill Holyfield had been and how destructive Tyson had seemed; there were people who feared Tyson might kill Holyfield in that fight, they were worried it would end boxing.

Yeah, I think even BM quoted several "experts" prior to the fight saying they were worried for Holyfield's life. I think their pre-fight poll was something like 31-1 in favour of Tyson, the majority of them picking him by early KO in less than 3 rounds.

People were going overboard but it was quite an odd situation - You had Tyson beating up bums/cans and you had Holyfield having suspected heart attacks, hepatitis and having that weird fight with a blown-up Czyz and all the stuff about something on his gloves.

The Boxing News this week asked readers to nominate the biggest upset in the history of boxing.
I didn't have to think long.
Every poll I've seen asking who was the greatest boxer of all time , nominated Sugar Ray Robinson. At his peak he came to London to fight Randolph Turpin for the middleweight title - and lost!
Can anybody seriously doubt that this was the biggest upset?

I don't think SRR was in his prime when he lost too and beat your man Turpin
