Kell Brook Is The NEW Calzaghe

He's not flashy or devastating but he does everything exceptional. His movement is something of a badger/mongoose in & out, left/right,

southpaw/convential, very patient, has a great chin, knows how to weather the storm, has a very determined disposition very confident like he's

always in charge. Crawford, Thurman, Porter, Khan, Bradley, these guys if they wanted to be handed a LOSS then fight Kell Brook. I get a

strange feeling about Kell Brook.....He moves like a badger. The people in Europe know they have a special fighter in Brook, that stadium is

packed to maximum capacity. Kell Brook is in the same realm with Calzaghe. Why doesn't Errol Spence call out Brook He knows whats up.

If I were a betting man and I wanted to increase my chances of winnings by 30% I would honestly bet on Kell Brook. He does everything subtle.

I think brook is a very flashy boxer I would compare him to Naseem Hamed perhaps not as impulsive and keeps his hands up I don't know about a Badger...

Maybe you haven't seen Kell fight. There is very little to compare him with Calzaghe and he has not been a huge ticket seller but he is progressing and making more of a name for himself on these shores. He's an excellent fighter and seems to be improving, but let's not get carried away, he went life and death with Carson Jones just a few fights ago, but I think that's more a reflection of where he was at the time - career stagnating and not getting the big fights, he didn't seem as focused. He's still yet to get a big pay day and without Khan to give him a platform to become a star he might have to do things the hard way like Froch did (i.e. Froch had to beat Taylor in his backyard and that fight went under the radar with the UK media and man on the street, just as Brooks win over Porter did).

I had a badger running in front of my car down a country lane a few years ago. It was a big fat thing with a stumpy legs and huge arse and I had to drive at about 5mph so as not run it over. I suppose that's reasonably fast as the badger was setting the pace but it didn't exactly sprint into the bushes nimbly.

When I read the title to this thread I thought it was going to be about Kell winning a world title and then having a string of pointless defenses for about eight years then fighting Mayweather when he was shot and had been knocked out three times and Thurman when he was 43.

All this may come to pass however a badger is a really weird thing to compare a boxer to. Bnovelist... If I was trolling with an alt I'm sure I'd be able to have much more fun than this.

I'd pump the brakes a bit on Brook. It's definitely premature to compare him to Calzaghe. It's funny how people continue to knock GGG for his opposition. They knocked LSC for the same thing. From what I could tell, I only see one noteworthy fighter on Brook's rapsheet. I think that the verdict is still out on this cat. I loved his victory over Porter. I thought that he fought brilliantly and really outclassed a boxer that most felt was a top P4P talent.

With that said though, lets see how Brook does against Chaves. This Chaves kid is nothing nice and has the same tenaciousness as most Argentine's. In no way is this going to be an easy fight IMO. Chaves gave Bradley all he could handle Chaves also had some really nice moments against Thurman though it ended with a KO. Chaves seems to have gotten better with every fight.

If Brook cruises to a victory over Chaves by lopsided decision or knockout, i'll be the first one to sing his praise. I already praise the fact that he took such a tough fight. I'd stay far away from this kid if it were me so I really hope Brook is the real deal because i really like his style.

Btw, it doesn't appear that the Brook vs Chaves fight is going to be televised here in the states (according to ESPN Schedule). That really bums me out. Does anyone know if it's possible to catch this fight online or something? Can't believe Showtime or HBO didn't want to televise this fight. Ridiculous.

Yep I agree. Brook won't get a lot of credit for beating Chaves but it's going to be a tough fight and he'll be expected to not just win, but to do it impressively. Brook is borderline overrated right now for what he has achieved, even though I still think he's the real deal.

It's easy to pick holes in most fighters resumes but Porter has only beaten smaller men who he's had a considerable size and strength advantage over. He's not elite and never will be. Paulie, Alexander and Broner - all boxers who he was able to bulldoze. Against Brook, a fully fledged Welter, Porter looked pretty ordinary and there's nothing to suggest he'll be any better in a rematch.

Porter is a good nights work for any of the top guys, but if you can't beat Porter then you're not really one of the top guys in the division.

Brook is a joker in the deck.

And he got away with a huge amount of holding in his fight with Porter.

But that is as much the fault of Porter and his corner as Brook.

I don't know about him beating Thurman and a few others...but I'd like to see it.

Calzaghe became undisputed Champion at Super Midlle and became Lineal Champion at Light Heavy.

Kell is a good fighter but no way is he going to achieve that. Doesn't help with bad injuries and matchmaking have taken 2-3 years of his peak.

But I can't let the "people in Europe" comment lie.
Europe is a continent, within which Kell Brook lives on an island. The people of France, less than a hundred miles from our southern border, frankly couldn't give a flying fornicate about Brook, let alone the people of Greece, Malta or Portugal.
He's a British fighter, in fact as a Scottish fan who has never attended one of his shows I'd go as far as to say his fanbase is English and you could likely fit his Irish, Welsh and Scottish fans into the same taxi from Doncaster airport.

To be fair, half of them probably don't even realise that we aren't on mainland Europe.
