Is Fury having his pocket picked?
What's the point of the Sheffield show?
Re: Is Fury having his pocket picked?
They need to add something extra in order to carry it as a Pay Per View. Fury Vs Wlad with an undercard that no one in the UK cares about would not generate much interest. By having Kell on it as well, it adds a little extra weight.
Re: Is Fury having his pocket picked?
I heard Rod Stewart was doing a gig on the undercard of the fury Fight , top night that if you ask me

Rubbish. Fury-Klit is a stand out PPV event. I hope Brook is on standard Sky money and Fury a %.Batley18 wrote:They need to add something extra in order to carry it as a Pay Per View. I agree the Sheffield show is probably a bit pointless & is not likely to gain many extra buys (if it gains any at all), but I'm certainly not complaining. Maybe it's Eddie's way of apologising for the rubbish he's put on recently.

Yup, Eddie seems like that's the kind of selfless thing he'd do.
Re: Is Fury having his pocket picked?
I don't see the problem here. Are you complaining that there's too many fights on a PPV?
Surely, the more fights the better? Or would you prefer to pay £15, and only have one fight televised?
Besides, the Sheffield show makes it better. Sure the Kell Brook fight aint anything special, but it's got to be better than the sort of crap you usually see on a Klitschko undercard.

To be honest, I can't get excited about this match somehow.mickey1975 wrote: Rubbish. Fury-Klit is a stand out PPV event.
Firstly, Tyson Fury is so unlikeable, and isn't anywhere near as funny as people seem to be pretending he is. "Oooh, you have the charisma of a pair of underpants", "I'm as serious as cancer."
Secondly, I can't see how he wins. Why would I want to pay £15 to watch a fight, when I could already tell you now who is going to win it?
The Kell Brook fight isn't exactly a cracker either, but at least it adds something to the show. I'd be more likely to order the PPV because that's on it.Boxerbeetle wrote:I agree the Sheffield show is probably a bit pointless & is not likely to gain many extra buys (if it gains any at all), but I'm certainly not complaining. Re: Is Fury having his pocket picked?
I'm with Mickey here. I'd be cheesed off if I were Fury and the Sheffield show wa going to eat into my slice. I don't know what the score is with the PPV money but I'm definitely of the opinion that Klitschko v Fury plus German undercard doesn't need propping up by a show here. Nepotism from Sky?keithmoonhangover wrote:You're not a bit biased are you mate?mickey1975 wrote:Rubbish. Fury-Klit is a stand out PPV event. Re: Is Fury having his pocket picked?
Speaking of Eddies cards tomorrow's bill is probably one of the weakest in sky's history , sky used to pay approx 85 k per show can't believe they will be happy with tomorrow's effort even Eddie will struggle to big it up !!
Re: Is Fury having his pocket picked?
Agree on that. Weakest show I have seen on Sky for a long while & they have shown some dross lately!
Re: Is Fury having his pocket picked?
I wouldn't pay £15 or whatever it is to watch Klitschko Vs Fury. I don't particularly like Fury so I wont be rooting for him. If it was AJ Vs Kiltschko then I would probably pay £200 to watch it.mickey1975 wrote:Rubbish. Fury-Klit is a stand out PPV event. Yes. Undisputed heavyweight title fight featuring a Brit isn't a patch on Boomer-Clev or Brook-Gavin. Buy a few papers on the morning of the fight, see who's garners 95% of the interest. Brook-Chaves? This is a huge fight. He's got more of a chance than Bruno did in Tyson 1, which started the PPV ball rolling.keithmoonhangover wrote:You're not a bit biased are you mate?mickey1975 wrote:Rubbish. Re: Is Fury having his pocket picked?
The reason for the British end is because kiltschko undercards are woeful beyond belief and with heavyweights there is always the risk of an early finish. If fury went over in the first sky fans would have been genuinely ripped off if the rest of the ppv show was just the German undercard. Plus Eddie is building the badger as a ppv attraction so he's killed two birds with one stone.
Re: Is Fury having his pocket picked?
Hearn doesnt have the fights lined up to give Brook his own PPV this time, but he considers Brook a PPV fighter.
This way it keeps Brook, his pockets (matchroom now get a %), Sky, and the customers happy.
....also adds something to the Brook-Khan discussions - 'Brook is a PPV fighter on SKY and is therefore the A side'

Re: Is Fury having his pocket picked?
yeah, but Fury hasn't got a very big fanbase. He's never sold out arenas like Joshua.mickey1975 wrote:Yes. Re: Is Fury having his pocket picked?
K2 undercards are almost always terrible. I'm glad there will be a card coming from the UK on the night.
Re: Is Fury having his pocket picked?
Fury isn't huge ticket seller but he is popular TV fighter. Plenty of PPV will be bought.keithmoonhangover wrote:yeah, but Fury hasn't got a very big fanbase.
