Any news on the following boxers: Beterbiev, Ward, Kovalev

Post by Freedom2013 »

Any news on what's next for these boxers:

Sergey Kovalev (was supposed to be fighting in Russia in November, but no news for over a month)

Artur Beterbiev (supposed to be fighting Barrera, but no news in a few weeks)

Andre Ward (rumored to be on Cotto-Alvarez PPV, but who might be the opponent?)

Konstantin Ponomarev (no news since he last fought, would like to see him fight again this year)

Vincent Feigenbutz (what's next for him?)

Hughie Fury (will he be on the Klitschko undercard, who are the possible opponents?)

Sergey Kovalev has been going to war with Adonis Stevenson on social media referring to him as chicken shit and saying he wants to get it on with him.

That's the fight I most want to see.

I think they both want it, but their promoters/managers are in the way.

I think we would all like to see it. Let's hope a deal can get done.

Beterbiev declined the fight with Kovalev in Russia. This is what Haymon does to people -- the brave Chechen warrior has to hide like a little mouse.

Stevenson and his handlers don't want any part of Kovalev.

I've been wondering what's up with Kubrat Pulev. It's over ten months since he fought Wladimir.

Stevenson will most likely fight Yunieski Gonzalez next according to his promoter (December 11th).

Beterbiev is still fighting Sullivan Barrera. The IBF gave an additional delay before the purse bid because Barrera has immigration problems or some shit like that. Anyway, both teams want the fight. It will happen.

Good information. :TU:

But if Stevenson is fighting Gonzalez, who's left for Kovalev to fight? :??

Pascal rematch would be my guess.

It's a real pity when the best fights can't seem to get made.

Bryant Jennings has been quiet since he lost to Klitschko.

He has the same manager as Andre Ward, namely James Prince.

Do you reckon Stevenson actually want it? I don't think he does. I see this champion knocking out average fighters and jumping round the ring like it was Ali Vs Liston. Kovalev would absolutely dismantle the guy. "Superman" is happy holding onto that title.

Dan is reporting Ward could be on a verge of a 3 fight deal with HBO and a move up to LHW.

Imo it could probably mean another tomato can for Ward next up but fight 2 could be interesting like Cleverly or Oosthy, then perhaps a showdown vs Kovalev for fight 3.

Feigenbutz will be fighting former Abraham foe, De Carolis soon. Meanwhile Chudinov should beat Buglioni & rematch Sturm later. Feigenbutz should get another fight, before fighting the Chudinov/Sturm winner in 2016.

Why would Chudinov rematch Sturm ? That was a clear win in his opponent's backyard. Chudinov could keep beating Brits like Groves and DeGale.

I get the impression, like you do, that Stevenson isn't too keen on fighting Kovalev.

The contract is already done, and they'll rematch in december if Chudinov beats Buglioni. Team Feigenbutz cried, but they couldn't do anything about it. Next up for him is De Carolis, then TBA, and in 2016 the Sturm-Chudinov winner.

And no way on earth, Chudinov beats DeGale.

Feigenbutz who ? The guy who was stopped by a 21-year old Russian journeyman and have fought nobody from top 30 ? How did he deserve a title shot ?

I am not confident that Chudinov would beat DeGale, but he certainly has a shot.

WBA mandated the Sturm rematch just goes to show how corrupt they are.

I don't know, in my eyes he didn't earn it.

Barrera can't or won't (thanks Duva) fight in Canada.

Purse bid on oct. 4th. If Duva loses the bid. The fight is off.

Remember Kovalev-Stevenson purse bid?
