The situation has changed? Really? When?ikorolev wrote:Of course money matters. Golovkin's team has been saying that he will go up or down FOR A BIG MONEY FIGHT. Unpopular Ward doesn't qualify.koolkc107 wrote:ikorolev wrote: No, he looks like a hypocrite to anyone who knows the definition of hypocrite:
The definition of a hypocrite is a person who pretends to have certain beliefs, attitudes or feelings when they really do not.
In this case, the belief, attitude and feeling is 2 years of telling folks you will fight anyone in 3 or 4 weight classes, only to find an excuse not to fight when challenged by someone who is a very real threat to either beat you or expose your flaws.
He wants Canelo and Cotto but wont fight Lara.
He wants Chavez Jr. or even Froch, but wont fight Ward, Groves or Dirrell.
Doesn't matter about the money (which I completely understand and don't blame him for). It is still saying one thing and doing another.
Also, only an idiot can't understand that situation changes. What a person would do 5 or even 2 years ago, he wouldn't do now. Golovkin wanted Ward fight two years ago, but Ward didn't want it. Now it is vice versa. It will likely change in 18 months: Golovkin will be available, but Ward will find reasons to duck.
Errr ummm, that aint what GGG himself was saying just a few months ago.
Only an idiot would keep ascribing attributes to someone that are directly opposite of the reality of that person.
And FYI, Ward DID want it but every time he has called GGG's bluff, they have ran away just like they did last month...again.
Here is video of Golovkin on ESPN this past July. About the 5 minute mark they ask him about Ward.
He says 50/50 money (which Ward agreed to), and 50/50 weight(which Ward did not agree to but was not the reason given by GGG for the latest duck).
He concludes by saying he wanted the fight...presumably as soon as it could be made if it was 50/50 money (since we know weight had nothing to do with the last refusal).
