It would seem Paddy has a lot of love for George, but that he thinks he's mentally gone and needs time out.

I think Groves needs to make a few changes, including a change of promoter. The Sauerlands are great in Germany but I'm not convinced they are the best fit for Groves.

I know this won't be a popular suggestion but I honestly think Fr&nk allegedly is the right man to help get Groves' career back on track. allegedly has a track record of pulling fighters back from the brink, nudging them along at the right pace until the ideal world title opportunity comes along with home advantage to boot. Now that is pressure, I'm glad his son is on the mend; Lupus is a horrible illness, it killed a woman I knew. Paddy must be a very dedicated man, there's plenty that would have been on the first plane back, I know I would have been.

I think Paddy Fitzpatrick comes across as a gent, and makes some really salient points in regard some of the Promo stuff. It was impulsive and churlish to bin a twitter a/c of 250k followers. I wish Paddy the best of luck and hope he enjoys training success.

The consensus of boxing judges on here seems to be that a change of trainer would suit GG, and it now looks like this will happen. You don't have to be a genius to see that it looks like Adam Booth route is gone, but there's other options.

My thoughts are that outside of the ring GG worked his brains out doing far too much, he's spoke of the effort of getting the 2nd Froch fight mandated and sold. He also has other side projects going on (he does some promoting) that perhaps are also distracting. The Sauerland team seem slick operators, he should perhaps let go of the overly taxing aspects of promotion and really get himself right in his mind. Someone suggested travelling on this forum! If I was in his shoes with money in the bank I can think of worse ways of spending 6 months or a year! Scuba diving in Thailand (I said scuba diving), sun bathing on Bondi beach, doing Inca trail - happy days! The boxing ring will still be there in 2016/2017!

I've always liked GG, and wish him the best. For all his detractors he has achieved great things so far (sub World Championship) and how many other fighters would love to be in his shoes. He is young, he can rebuild, and make whatever decision is best for his career/life.

Maybe Groves just needs to settle down a bit, there's always an excuse for a loss, just accept and move on. It can't always be the trainer, ref or promoter.
He's losing fans by not reacting the right way. Take Tony Sibson as an example, he gained fans when losing, he just got on with it with a bit of humility and frankness on his own performance.

I thought she was a schoolteacher? With all the stuff going on in the background for Paddy your have thought she'd keep her council. Losing on a split in Vegas v an American isn't the worst result and really, its the boxer who has to perform - if he'd won he'd have had the glory so he's for to take a close defeat on the chin and come back more determined and with a plan to improve.
