Henry Armstrong vs PBF at lightweight
Who win this battle? I have to go with Armstrong, but the speed and defense of Mayweather is outstanding. What do you guys think?
Henry Armstrong would run Mayweather right out the ring. I have all the respect for Mayweather, and he's an excellent fighter, but I do think he's a little overrated at this moment in time. Armstrong was literally non-stop - if he wasn't punching a guy, he was shoving him, bullying him, nutting him in the face with his head. He was quite unstoppable.
And you couldn't run from him. Hurricane Hank would chase you down with his fast feet and hands, bang away at the body and pile on the pressure. Probably the most difficult man to fight, ever, and easily the most relentless.

i dont think mayweathers overated, i think hes a potential all time great and one of the best ring technicians i have ever seen p4p. however, this is henry armstrong were talking about.
- jose castillos style presented problems for floyd. that pressure style. so i imagine armstrong would give floyd nightmares.
i see armstrong taking a 15 unanimous decision. floyd has a good chin and i think hes too good defensivley too put himself in danger of getting stopped
The term 'overrated' doesn't mean to say he isn't any good. I'm sure Mayweather would do very well versus some of the past greats, and may even become a true great later on. But some guys are putting him in their top thirty fighters of all time, or picking him over the likes of Duran and Chavez. Overrated.BrocktonBlockbuster49 wrote:DoubleM wrote:Henry Armstrong would run Mayweather right out the ring. You should have told me earlier about the Valdez-Briscoe fight - I'll get it uploaded again tomorrow.
armstrong has an incredible modern style. more than any other fighter i have seen of that time.
