Green's next fight in Melbourne - early December
Re: Green's next fight in Melbourne - early December
Most of above comments does nothing bar advertise fight that might not eventuate, which Green no doubt appreciates. He's an extremely good self publicist.

Green not only has people talking. He has them putting their hands in their pockets and paying to see him fight. Nearly 9,000 at the Bolonti fight and probably more at his next one if it is in Melbourne.AntonS wrote:Most of above comments does nothing bar advertise fight that might not eventuate, which Green no doubt appreciates. Attracting nearly 9,000 paying customers to a venue 3,500 kilometres from home certainly speaks volumes for Green's popularityFrancis75 wrote:Just shows how many casual fans there is out there.bogan whisperer wrote:Green not only has people talking. Most of the organisations rated Flores highly and he was undefeated when he met Green. That isn't my opinion. That is fact.DA GOOSE wrote:No offence mate but I will take Robbie Pedens word over yours as far as boxing knowledge goes.Like a Boss wrote:The past is often the best guide when trying to predict the future and Green has only fought one Aussie in about the last 10 years.
Flores was highly ranked by most organisations and undefeated when he met Green. Referring to him as a can says a lot about your boxing knowledge. Or lack of it.

lol
can't wait to see the response to that.
he'll twist something to keep arguing instead of saying u r correct.

Name two decent fighters on his resume before facing Green pal?Like a Boss wrote:Most of the organisations rated Flores undefeated when he met Green. That isn't my opinion. I see you are back between bannings and for that reason you can be forgiven for not being up with the topic.Kelandbeave wrote:Name two decent fighters on his resume before facing Green pal?Like a Boss wrote:Most of the organisations rated Flores undefeated when he met Green. The discussion taking place here is whether or not BJ Flores was a 'can' prior to meeting Green, as claimed by the goose.
Fact is Flores was undefeated and rated highly by many of the organisations at the time and that is NOT a can.

Re: Green's next fight in Melbourne - early December
I agree with Goose, he is a can and still is............. Its a nothing name on Green's resume on the world scene
Re: Green's next fight in Melbourne - early December
Like a Boss us Aussies are not the only one who manipulate rankings. Take note off Bomber and study the records of the 5 Cruiserweights Flores had fought before Green.
Mendoza first fight at CW lost 3 of last 4 before fighting Flores at LHW.
http://boxrec.com/boxer/139128
Hererra lost 4 of last 6
http://boxrec.com/boxer/149017
Chris Thomas
http://boxrec.com/boxer/30536
Darnell Wilson
http://boxrec.com/boxer/42919
Ali Supreme
http://boxrec.com/boxer/19476
Wilson is the only 1/2 decent name add the fact Danny made him come in at a 195lb catchweight and he had been off 15 months. Tamas Kovacs was undefeated before fighting Shumenov who blasted him out in 3 before he fought Hopkins(no catchweight either). The undefeated, younger true CW line was to impress the casuals(same as Kovacs before the Hopkins-Shumenov unification bout) after the Siaca,Briggs fiascos. Worked on you it seems.

A can in boxing parlance does not describe a fighter who is 24-0-1 and ranked in the top 10 of four of the major world boxing bodies.Kelandbeave wrote:I agree with Goose, he is a can and still is............. Its a nothing name on Green's resume on the world scene
I'm sure you will continue to be critical of Flores. But the reality is he wasn't a 'can' when he met Green. Look up what a can is before you further misuse the term.
Re: Green's next fight in Melbourne - early December
i'd honestly love to know what danny has done to these people personally.
it must be a ripper going by how much time they spend talking him down.
I've never seen anything like it before. its humorous but sad at the same time, lol.

"Flores, who has an impressive record of 24 wins and one draw, with 15 KOs, is ranked in the top 10 of four of the major world boxing bodies".

I'll return to the hatefest this thread has turned into when Green's opponent has been named. Until then it is just a waste of time and sanitybuster007 wrote:its obvious to everyone he was not a can and he still isn't.

It's close to locking anyway, saving some final holiday

You would be the one to ask this. Does over a years inactivity lose a boxer his ranking with the orgs like it does with boxrec?AntonS wrote:It's close to locking anyway, saving some final holiday

He has fought 2 decent opponents and been well beaten by both. Maybe he was a dehydrated starving ghost he was 5lb lighter against Danny than he was his previous opponent. :??Like a Boss wrote:I'll return to the hatefest this thread has turned into when Green's opponent has been named. The BJ Flores Green fought was 24-0-1, ranked in the top 10 of four of the major world boxing bodies and certainly not a can like you claim he wasDA GOOSE wrote:He has fought 2 decent opponents and been well beaten by both. 12 months inactivity = inactive is our policy & is system's auto function. We're not keen rating guys that might've died 2 years ago.DA GOOSE wrote:You would be the one to ask this. Had a situation with a couple of Regional bodies, where I had to alert them contender had past away yonks ago. One was still rated #3
In my cheeky way, I told them if title becomes vacant....I'll take him on
Re: Green's next fight in Melbourne - early December
OK. I think a dead guy actually moved up the rankings with the WBO once.AntonS wrote:12 months inactivity = inactive is our policy & is system's auto function. Most title governing bodies, including major, simply don't have their finger on the pulse. Why should they given their principle purpose is sanction $$$$$$
