Anyone in UK remember this documentary shown on UK TV?
Many years ago, maybe 30, British TV showed a fly on the wall documentary about a US boxer. I can't remember much about it but seem to recall he was a journeyman. He was possibly blonde and from the midwest area. Ring any bells with anyone?

I remember there was a movie made about him(Bruce"the Mouse"Strauss) back around 1997.
but he didnt play the lead.
Randall "Tex"Cobb was in that movie too.

No, it wasn't a documentary, just a docu-drama.Controversial wrote:Hmm possibly him, was he in a documentary then?
If you watch interviews of him, they are essentially the same stories recycled. Still funny though.
I just remember the guy, you saying midwest blonde guy reminded me.

Think I just found it but it's in black and white which I don't remember, not sure where I got blonde hair from?
It's called "Broken Noses" by Bruce Weber starring boxer Andy Minsker and released in 1987. I can't say I know anything about Andy but it seems he was a great amateur (National Golden Gloves champ) with a win over Meldrick Taylor and 344 amateur fights. Fragile hands ended his career.

I watched Broken Noses years ago, he also made a film about a jazz musician - both documentaries has a slightly homo erotic feel about them.Controversial wrote:Think I just found it but it's in black and white which I don't remember, not sure where I got blonde hair from?
