I dont think any of the fighters on the list will ever really transcend the sport, certainly not in the way the likes of Ali, Foreman, Frazier, Leonard, Duran, Hearn, Hagler, Tyson, Holyfield, Lewis, De La Hoya, Mayweather or Pacquiao did during their time, they all brought boxing into the mainstream and in a big way. I cannot see anyone on this list achieving that. Ward, no matter how talented, just does not have the following, this far into his career i think thats unlikely to change much now.

AJ does have a shot, he is a true specimen of a heavyweight, if he becomes what many hope and believe he will then he could be the next flag bearer for boxing. I feel a bit silly typing that as he is so unproven right but its not beyond the realms of possibility, manynof the right components appear to be there.

Personally, i would say the next true superstar has not yet turned pro, or are in the early stages of their pro career.

AJ seems to be knocking over men that are overmatched, unable to adapt. A few years ago you had Americans (up at Heavy) that knew how to box. They weren't just big strong clubbers - but of course they could do that too. I'm taking about people like Riddick Bowe, Oliver McCall, Holyfield, Tyson. These are men that wouldn't just look green then get clubbed out the ring, they'd club you back.
I haven't learnt much about Joshua or how good a fighter he is. So far just that he's strong and athletic. Get Tony Thompson over. He LOVES coming to the UK for a nice pile of cash, and he's got more boxing knowledge "up top" , than anybody Joshua has yet shared a ring with.

If Wilder can up the opposition and still retain his belt (beating people like Povetkin etc.) and AJ keeps racking up better wins over here i think we have our next 2 superstars.

A very big ask, especially with how Wilder gets matched and his believed fragillity, let alone the amount of levels AJ has to step through but i believe this could be a sensational money fight come 2017.... that could crossover in a big way both sides of the atlantic.

Wilder and Joseph Parker can be compared, but Anthony Joshua really stands above them.

Good thing i wasn't comparing them directly then, and that i was making what i feel is a justifiable response to the thread.

In terms of marketability and status im not sure Parker stands equal to either.... he will struggle to get the breaks the other 2 have/will.

There are about 9000 tickets sold for Deontay Wilder vs Duhaupas, for Anthony Joshua there are sold over 10.000 within the first hour of selling, while he's "only" fighting "Dillian Whyte". No offence to Whyte ofcourse, but his name wasn't really setted that much before this fight either was he?

I think George Washington for example will have a bigger chance on becoming something big in America, simply because he fights names you have actually heard about.

I think GGG can, if he keeps smashing people up like he has, then eventually he will build a following in the states and the rest of Europe. Yanks love a guy who takes it to them.

Joshua - Jury still out, lot still yet to prove. I feel he might though end up like Lennox, just not engaging enough for people to buy into, though he certainly has a mean streak in abundance.

If they want to be true superstars they will have to dethrone Wlad, or hope they get the chance to dethrone the other. Using an American fighters ticket sales against a UK fighter is such fawed logic, Is Kell Brook a bigger draw than Mayweather now? Is Warrington a bigger superstar than Lomachenko?

I don't know anything about the baby divisions, but I do know that whoever Kell Brook is, he will always be less big as Klitschko and Anthony Joshua, just like all the other names you named.

Klitschko is getting old and Anthony Joshua will take over the division in between 1 and 4 years I think.

I still see Anthony Joshua as the biggest talent in the past 25 years.

Colonel Bob Sheridan says Joshua and Parker will rule the heavyweight division

Colonel Bob Sheridan says the heavyweight division will become attractive again with unbeaten fighters Joshua (15-0, 15 KOs) and Joseph Parker (17-0, 15 KOs) becoming better known in America.

“Joseph Parker in New Zealand and Anthony Joshua in England can make the heavyweight division attractive again but people in the United States don’t know Joshua except for people inside boxing and they don’t know Parker, but they will in the next year or so and there will be a lot more interest in the heavyweight division when these guys move into high gear. They will rule the heavyweight division.”
